Here’s an interesting article on Crosby and the musicians in Laurel Canyon.  The author includes a tremendous amount of guilt by association in the piece.  He also doesn’t seem to understand, or ignores, the fact that many, many Silent Generation and early Boomer kids spent time on or near military bases because of WWII and Korea.

The level and number of celebrities in my humble San Diego area was incredible. Names you'd know.  Most of them before my time, but a few during it. Almost all Navy, some because of defense companies. Los Angeles had an even larger defense industry.

What you'll see is that defense contractors were quite intelligent and genetics play a BIG factor. Two intelligent parents often create "over focused" children.  Autism also runs high in those circles...
Eh, nevermind...

Yes, thank you JUAN.
I spent Christmas day in the hospital having gallbladder surgery.  It was nice being with people on Christmas, for a change. ;) :-*

The '70s would not have been the 1970s without Atlanta Rhythm Section.

Champagne Jam is one of those great albums that really works from the drop of the needle to the trail off groove.

If I'm not mistaken, this is the third death. The bassist, Paul Goddard, was like 800 lbs. The singer, Ronnie Hammond (?) had substance abuse issues.

Another piece of my youth has died.

They sound like George Harrison grew up in Gainesville Florida.
Eh, nevermind...

The entire band from the big hit era are dead. They've turned into Lynyrd Skynyrd no survivors on stage!
