Actually it's interesting, I didn't interpret his comment as political so much as describing the mood. He didn't say what was cringeworthy, that could have been people or events from either "side." And then I just moved on.

I had a vacation scheduled and had to cancel my trip for this week.  My better half is having some medical problems.
