Everyone seems to be on the same page. Happy is stalker material. Don't write again. Find a mutual friend or acquaintance to introduce you at another party of other safe well-lit environment

I agree. Do not write her again, a personal introduction by someone who knows both of you would be better, if possible. If not, let it go, she has no idea who you are and is right to be cautious.

His name is Happy, and he is.  But is he barking up the wrong tree in pursuing the girl in such a way?  Mrs. Thompson will try to set him straight on things.  What will she say?  Also, should Happy send a snapshot of himself to her?  Answer this question correctly and you will get a bonus of five points.

Writing to her was the wrong thing to do.  Just because you made eye contact doesn’t mean she is interested in you.  You should not have written to her.  You should have returned to the town and hoped for a chance to meet her in person. In your best suit. With flowers.

Don’t send her a picture.

He should not have contacted her without a formal introduction.  Perhaps the person who gave the address could have done that. No photo.

No Happy, that's a bad Happy.

Except me. I always assume people are genuine and have honorable intentions. Is this why I am so frequently disappointed?

He could be genuine and have honorable intentions BUT back then there were ways to do things.

That was a previous lifetime for me and I can't recall it. I'm hoping that I will be able to recall it with @Aquarius 's help!

Yes, write and send a picture. You’ll never know if you don’t try.

1.  Happy should not have written without obtaining a proper introduction to the girl.
2.  He should write the girl a note saying  that he didn't know it was improper to have done so in the first place.
3.  If he does send a note, it should not contain a request for further acquaintance.
4.  Happy should not send a photograph or a snapshot.

Additional players could have gotten six points, but they forgot to mention the photo.
