I guess I should have known that. I was stationed at Lowry AFB from February through May of 1975. I didn’t have a car but now that I think of it they did have one side open.

I still try to drive up over the pass past A-Basin on Hwy 6 or whatever it works s at least once a year. Sure is pretty up there.

I've been following the Avalanche situation in Colorado for the last several days. The Amtrak/SP line wasn't affected as it takes a Northerly route as compared to I-70 / Hwy 6 west out of Denver.

The Arapahoe Ski Basin was unreachable all day today.

Here's some steam video that I watched part of today. Enjoy !

This 4K video posted by Neil Dahl is a whistle blowing masterpiece!

He paces the UP Big Boy #4014 beside Hwy 2154 from Navasota to College Station, Texas, with the UP George Bush engine #4141 running with it.

This video by Nick Alvizo has footage of the Big Boy #4014, and with it, the UP George Bush engine #4141. And, he captured a BNSF Vestas Windmill train!

I was in a town once when one of those steam engines came through giving rides.  I was amazed at how it covered downtown with smoke. How awful air pollution must have been when 100-trains a day came through.
Merry Christmas

The industrial revolution was no picnic.
