I'm in San Diego but I wouldn't risk doxxing myself (and, ultimately my kids) considering the religious-like fervor and vitriol from a few of the vocal Heatherites I've seen.  They seem to not know the nuances in life and are antifa-like.

Anyways, my production skills have deteriorated greatly but I'd be glad to remotely help.  From software suggestions to actually taking files and working with them. I'm game.

If you send me a list of the equipment you do have, even if you're using an on-board microphone from your laptop, or your cell phone, and what software you used, (and operating system!) I'll be glad to throw in my $0.38 worth of knowledge.

Used voice recorder on my cheap android. Then recorded the  photo of heather. Using my phone camera. on my laptop while playing the audio on my phone. Didnt even edit. Took me 10 mins to do.

I love getting more people doing music. I regularly have a bunch of high schoolers come to the house, not to talk to my kids but the talk music. At first, I thought I was just the sideshow, but then they started showing up with guitars or USB sticks wanting me to help them with a technique.

One thing I do not go for is enabling users. I won't produce for somebody who isn't willing to do it themselves and just needs the help, strike that, wants the help.

Even when I was paid to engineer or produce, I was very adamant that the artist be an active participant.

Nope. I have a vaio with a microphone already inside. But it nwver works. Don't believe in using apple. I dont want to buy any equipment. So im thinking if i do something else ill try using windows media maker. But it still doeant sound like a srudio.

The secret is in processing the audio signal. I was helping a rap/slam poetry artist I recorded everything on her cell phone. The biggest problem was getting her to stick to a rhythm.

Getting a workable product is very doable even with a cell phone!  It may not sound as good as the Flying Killer Robots but, hey, I can't even sound that good. Singing is a big challenge for me. Argh.
