This is for reporting and commenting on the latest classic (94-2004) show you heard.
At work the other night I hit random play on the phone and 11/11/99 came on. Topic was basically airline pilots UFO reports that had happened that week. A definite classic, but what made it even better is that the entire show was intact as it originally broadcasted with the current news reports ETC. Even the news bumper music was classic and of the period. Reports on Clinton and much more. From start to finish, as it originally aired. AND that classic radio OTA sound!
Love those gems.

Closing the thread.
@Bart Ell Lock it.

What? Too much work?
Concept's good.
-
Ok we'll keep it.

20 years ago, somebody would write down in a notebook the guests, the times, subjects covered...
Nowadays, somebody just puts the file on an AI system and it comes back with a synopsis.

Dallas Thompson - Cosmic Manuscript. Flight Into the Hollow Earth. October 4, 2002.
A total nutcase who disappeared (probably out of embarrassment) after the show. He was really scatterbrained.
He discloses his birthday during the show. I believe it was May 26th, we later found out that the birth year was 1944 was thrown out there although it should be around 1962.
JC made a vall before the guest. JC sounded young when his voice flattened out.
Art had to reign him in a bit.

Yeah I remember/ have that show. He was so fucking annoying, and he came across as mentally insufficient on so many levels, let alone getting his head-in-the-clouds ass to the center of the earth. Art had patience on that night. You'll notice that the flake was never back again.

The article on waking times explains why he disappeared. That same article is on a ton of websites. The dude plagiarized his book completely and was definitely scamming.
Of course, scammers must scam and Steven D Thompson of Bakersfield reverted back to his fake author shenanigans.
I noticed that he kept on reverting to his story and having to go through the story from A to B, to C. This is a Falkie thing too. The story has been memorized. Art had to refocus him so many times, it was nuts. But in retrospect, we know why now.

Huh.
Not surprised.
Man, Art had a lot of crooked SOB's on over the years.

Heard a replay of a 2001show with Bell taking a call from the late, great AAA, Bill from West Hartford. Right off the bat, Bill complained that Bell kept cutting him off, with Bell telling him to make his point quickly and well or he'd be cut off again.
With that Bill began his rant about a guest (or maybe a caller, not sure since I did not hear that show) who the night before had told Bell about her death and eventually being brought back to life during brain aneurism surgery. She claimed while she was dead, she apparently not only crossed over to Heaven, but could describe in intricate detail what went on in the OR while she was legally dead because she watched it real time after leaving her body.
I still can't decide if Bill the atheist was more offended than Bill the scientist since he took great offense at both her visiting Heaven and claiming there was consciousness after death. He immediately poo pooed the Heaven bit because, well...there is no God, so there is no Heaven. Her claims about watching the proceedings in the OR while dead were also impossible and he talked about her dreaming or imagining what she claims to have seen.
At this point, Bell laughed and told Bill he sounded frantic, desperate to sound off because he thought Bill was starting to doubt his own beliefs. Bill was not happy, but before he could argue the point, Bell went to the next caller.
That's entertainment.

That must have been the lady with her blood drained out... @KSM could probably track that call down in 2 seconds. He should be the Art Bell Estate archivist!
Then there was Sarah (2001-04-20) who was hit riding her bike who went to not-heaven. Her episode was strange because Art was playing the interview back. At least that's what it sounded like.
Sarah's credibility took a little bit of a hit with me when she confirmed the sounds of hell recording was legit. Art loved that clip so much. Didn't somebody ultimately figure out that the clip was from a movie?

I know I have it, and now I want to listen to it. Couple of things to go on there in order to nail down the date. @Uncle Duke You said it was a 01 show, did they happen to mention a month? Often in the SIT shows they doofus that does the voiceover intros gives all the date info.

December I think.

Sorry, I missed this earlier, but yes, she's the gal with blood drained and body chilled for brain aneurism surgery. Hopefully that will let KSM find the show.

He had an epic (one) post on Bellgab.

Going through open lines segments of December 01 shows.
Man there were alot of big classics in that month. Pam Reynolds NDE, the big Entity Attack open lines show, HAARP (Begich 1st), the predictions for 02, the Clinically Dead Open Lines (best open lines ever!) and many other notable shows. All in the wake of 911.
Nerding out looking for a specific call. ::)
Why do I do this to myself. :-[
UPDATE: 12 minutes later. Listening to the call now. 37 minutes in on December 7, 2001. Bill sounds "frantic" as Art puts it.
-
@KSM Hustles. Airyn should "hire" him as their archivist and use him for stud services.

I'd bet it is. Bill didn't strike me as the type who'd have someone close to/who cared enough about him to take the time to take care of such things after his death.

Funny how someone replied there wanting my opinion on if that post was made by the real Bill the AAA! ;D

Several posts after Bill's, longtime BGer "WOTR" rewrote Bill's treatise with proper English grammer, punctuation, spelling, etc. It read beautifully, and must have been quite a chore. As I told WOTR at the time, he had made Bill sound less the Unibomber and more just the sad, lonely old man he was.
It was beautifully done, and I'm sure was a tedious effort.

Do we know that he, Bill, has passed on?
Sounds like he had a very lonely and isolated life.

Yes.

Yep a few years ago someone found his obituary online.

WOTR utilized some artistic license in his translation of Bill's post. Where Bill ended the post by being effusive in his praise for George Noory, WOTER removed it and replaced it with...George Noory Sucks.

That was not the actual show she appeared on, was it? It sounded like he was replaying a recording on the April 20 show. Because of the way he cut away and talked about what was said. I never got the context, maybe he interviewed her at another time...

I am quite sure she was on with Dr. Jeffrey Long to introduce her. On the April 20 show did Art just play the Sarah segment? I think the original show aired pre 01, but
I'll have to check my library when I get home.

Listening to G2G 05. Came up on random play from the offline stream of
U7 KSM.
I've heard this show maybe a dozen times since 05, and there is this one caller that stands out for all the wrong reasons. Some guy who tells Art that he and his buddies went to the haunted train tracks where the school bus of children was hit when the bus stalled on the crossing with the intention of testing the legend by putting their car into neutral to see if the kids would push the car over the tracks.
He tells Art that they heard children crying and sobbing as the car was pushed across to safety with these guys fat asses seated comfortably within. Art was not impressed with this report and told the guy how he felt about it.

Don't know the show date as U7 didn't have it as part of the file name, but this guy seemed interesting and I am curious how he ended up. He was referring to a computer/nerve implant being fresh, that would place this probably around 1998 .
His Wikipedia has his latest work as a 2017 lecture.

All around the world, except the woke places, she's just doing what is always done.
She was enjoyable and refreshing. I think I read years ago that she had died of breast cancer. Not absolutely sure but it was a very young death.

I was introduced to Crackle on my Sony DVD player. I used to watch Bewitched with my kids on crackle. That was the only TV show we watched in the household. That was before Smart TVs, I think.

I'm listening to the Art Bell farewell show that was what, New Year's Day 2004? Presuming it's in the last half hour (maybe the last 45 minutes) of the show, Art refers to a website that I think was started by Keith that discussed talk radio. I'm curious if that website still exists. It sounded like it might be a subscription service, no doubt that's a big failure.
This was not too much longer after somebody paid an AT&T service to play a pre-recorded message message when he answered the phone. The message included the person's name and phone number so he didn't play any of it, but I thought that was interesting.

Already a critique: Why not use Art's voice during the preamble?

21 minutes in and I am thinking of going to a Catholic church again. All those cute Filipinas and Latinas...
Enthralling so far.

The only critic in the movie was a guy named Robert Blair Kaiser. An admitted paranoid schizophrenic. His issue was not mentioned in the movie which I thought it should have been.

I am listening to Streama (date unknown) and it is an episode when the telephone lines were not working outside of Pahrump; he later said that no one could hear him outside of Pahrump as well. High winds. He used the opportunity to promote the upcoming global superstorm book.
Art asks for local Pahrump residents to call...
Art answers a call from an old lady who has car problems and had been going to the grocery store by walking one way and then getting a taxi cab going the other.
Turns out Art remembered that Ramona had mentioned picking up a lady walking to the grocery store a couple of times. The woman didn't realize it was Ramona and seemed a little embarrassed that she didn't know.
It was just so genuinely wholesome.
During a commercial, he mentioned that it was the night of the 21st morning of the 22nd of whatever month and whatever year...

Falling asleep last night I turned on old Art Bell and it turned out to be Art interviewing Merle Haggard. It was pretty fun…talking about Vegas in the old days, Merle’s teenage years and prison stuff. I’d never heard it before. I’m going to track it down and listen to the rest tonight.
Merle was interesting, he normalized a lot of behaviors and choices…I bet that guy has some insane stories. Crazy life. He says near the beginning “I’ve always had trouble with money. I never could keep ahold of it”.
