Just couldn't fucking wait until AFTER THANKSGIVING You must work for Lowes or some other bigbox store where dim witted minimum wage cucks were setting up Nativity scenes OVER A WEEK AGO!! Retards ::)

I don't think too much about Christmas until after the Thanksgiving weekend.  I'll usually decorate some time during the first week of December.  Plus all the advertising and Christmas music being played well ahead of the holiday just wears me out.  Went to a store today and some of the employees were wearing Santa hats.  Gimme a break.

@ShayP 100 percent agreed. It makes me physically angry. There's nothing more ridiculous looking than a fuckin' arab working in Home Depot with a Santa hat on his or her turban!!  CALGON TAKE ME AWAY!!!

What sucks for me (up here) is that our Thanksgiving is in mid October. And then Halloween on the 31st of course but after that the only thing left in the year is Christmas. This means the "When are you setting up the tree" chirps start reverberating from all levels of the cokadooty house! Sheee's a Christmassy woman but she 's also a Christmas Nazi! Yeah I said it!!  I love it too but I want to savor it in all it ahs to offer throughout DECEMBER dammit!

There really should be a law. Canadians get waaaaay too Christmassy waaaay too soon. I will be wrapping that large inversion table box soon. Wrapping it in PURE SASKATCHEWAN SALMON SKIN!!!  ;D

Don't eat the bath beads, correct?  I should make mention that the girlrabs don't wear turbans. But they still look ridiculous in the Santa hat.

Her and I would probably get along.  Nutcrackers are about my only Christmas decorations besides an old Avon nativity set that I built a cedar stable for display.  I gave that to my daughter when she graduated college though.

Oh trust me, you and her would get along quite well. I know you well enough by now and I fuck the living shit outta her a few times week so I figure everything equals out in the end. I have no idea what any of that means but I laughed as I posted it and that's all that matters. To ME!

..Seriously, what is it about the nutcracker things that people like so much? They're just weird looking statues and figurines that look more like Halloween than beautiful Christmas. AND THAT NUTCRACKER SONG/MUSIC???  What is it @GravitySucks I WANT TO KNOW!!  Not only do I hate these things in or around my house but it's just more shit that I! have to find space for the other 11 months of the cockadootie year!!

EDIT!! you have nooooo idea how much crap she brings home acting like she got a huge deal on while looking at me as I try not to burst with anger knowing she wants to hear me say "Oh my God honey, you're so awesome at finding all this fucking horrible cunting crap for me to tolerate being around me while slowly sucking me dry and void of any Saturday morning happiness while I try to enjoy my morning coffee knowing that you have other crap in the back of your truck that we may never even unbox but as long as you tell me you got it all on a great deal I'm sooooo fucking happy I could just shit myself in my breakfast chair!"

I don't want it! I wanna move to a cabin in the woods and kill things with my bare hands all day long.

We aren’t decorating for Christmas this year. Hubby is going to the Middle East for a week or so next weekend so the timing is shite for getting a good tree, plus I am working over the festive period and also Ringo is sufficiently far gone mentally now that having a real tree will be too confusing/change of routine for him to handle.

I am kinda relieved to be honest. It’s a lot of faffing about isn’t it?

Sadly no ... faffing about is generally something that is ultimately a hassle.

“Packing for my holiday is exciting but it’s a load of faffing about”
“Getting ready for the in-laws to visit is a load of faff”
“I can’t be arsed going to the cinema tonight cause I have already taken my bra off and it’s too much faffing about”

@KSM Yeah.  That’s a little much. But I like her style. The only thing that would ruin it for me is if her second toe is longer than her big toe.

Keep your mittens off the lady’s laptop.

I never look into her business, just had a hunch. For $1,600. it better pour me a scotch.   Her toes are perfect. Had em' in my mouth an hour ago.

My staff party was last night down in my bar. On Christmas day that is NOW turning into a bloody houseful I'll be sure to have that thing in the line of running playing screaming kids..  one of them will run in to it and hopefully smash it. Perhaps it'll stand at the top of the stairs and have an accident..  I never hit a woman statue unless she it falls down the stairs.  EZ does it..that's just a joke

She won't do payments. She'll buy it and pay the card balance right away. Hates any overhead debt and that I'm glad for that, it's just the overall price for a Fugly creepy statue that pisses me off. Meh   Whadda ya gonna do :-\

I like decorating the house. It brings back memories of when my mom and dad did it and as a single father raising a son and daughter I understand why. It doesn't have to be over done. Just a little here and there to enjoy this time of year. I don't bang the religious drum as some being pro or con do. I think of it as a nice way to enjoy it with family and friends and to let them know I'm thinking of them as another year comes to a close. I enjoy the music, sights and sounds, the visits, the message of goodwill and peace no matter what ones background. That's what it brings to my home and me at this time of year.

I try to be in the "Christmas mood" but I'm surrounded by miserable people who make the simplest things so difficult that it borders on lunacy.   >:(  Honestly, I'm quite sick of it.  None of this should be stressful.  Putting garland up should not piss someone off.  *sigh*  :-\  And I'm tired of being a pack mule and errand boy.  Tired of being volunteered to do something for someone else all the time.  No damn appreciation whatsoever. I appreciate it man.  I'm just frustrated and I knew this would happen.  It does most of the time.  It's getting to me more so than usual.  I've gone through the whole "Hey!, Ask me first before for you tell them...blah blah blah"  Then if I don't do it, later on it'll come back as me not having the time or not willing to help, being selfish, etc..  ::)

Again...I'm just frustrated and venting.  Cheers my man!  8)

NONE!  December 26th can't come soon enough.  :(

Sorry.  I had to get it off my chest.

Goodness, I'm sorry to hear it. Hopefully venting will ease the frustration some.

Four months. Thanks to Art and Whitley's climate change we're down to four months. The fifth month (April) is what I call the ugly month where the thaw happens. With May, "like somebody threw a switch" everything seems to beautify immediately. I love my four months of snow but that's enough. #WhiteChristmas

Yes. I have a buddy from California send it up. I just rent a bunch of really tall ladders and drive around the countyside sprinkling it over the tree tops.

Drat. I was recording football. Kind of early. Hopefully they will show it again.  Every year I record
Charlie Brown Christmas,  Grinch Who Stole Christmas (Karloff version) and Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. Tradition

It does start early, I feel that way too. But I would miss a lot of the Christmas specials the last couple of years because I didn't really start focusing until 2 weeks or so before (like today) and would notice a lot of specials were already shown for the year, especially the classics I like

BTW these Hallmark Christmas movies that being spewed out nowadays are awful. lol

@Zetaspeak  Oh jeez.  Those Hallmark movies truly are awful.  I have some family members and friends that binge watch those things for hours and you can smell the depression in the room.  LOL!   It seems they are so melodramatic and cheesy.  I tried to watch a couple.  Ugh.  No can do.

*Venting again.  Pardon me.  ;)

Well.  Yesterday I had a blow up with some of the family.  I couldn't take the bickering and incessant bitching about the "stress" of Christmas during what should be a happy, festive time.  The irony is that for months everyone couldn't wait until this holiday was here.  Couldn't wait to decorate and celebrate the holiday season.  I seriously lost it.  I think I went a little overboard.  It felt like I was drowning in sound.  ShayP can get really pissed off and be the angriest, loudest person in the room.  I don't regret what I said but I wish it didn't come to that.  It was therapeutic in a sense actually.

Also, I refuse to have anything to do with a few of my family members during this Christmas.  Everyone has a breaking point.  I'm tired of their shit.  HOWEVER...I will enjoy the holiday as I always try to do.   :)

Funny thing is right before I walked out the door, the looks on their faces was priceless.  I really wish I took a picture.  Oh and the dead silence was music to my ears. ;D

Hopefully Santa doesn't leave a lump of coal in my stocking.  :o ;D

Cheers everyone!  :D

@Christmas Farm Penis   I guess peashoots are the new kale.  Before that it was parsley.  LOL!  I remember my first cooking gig 30+ years ago. I'd get chewed out if I didn't put a sprig of parsley on a dish.  Garnishes are so unnecessary.  My opinion of course.

By the way...to stay on a Christmas theme...are you ready for the holiday?

@StarrMountain my condolences.
I am trying to get into the Christmas Spirit.
I have attended too many funeral services since October.
The only Christmas movie I have watched was "The Man Who Invented Christmas" (2017).
My favorite "Scrooge"- film is the one from 1951 with Alastair Sim.

@Christmas Farm Penis   Oh, I remember Christmas Vacation.  It's currently in my Net Flix queue.  8)   Your gift wrapping skills are far superior than mine.  Misaligned Santa's or not.  I can't even fold the paper and make proper seams around the edges.  I thought about skipping the paper and just spray painting the packages.   ;D

I am truly overjoyed within the Christmas spirit knowing that I have to attend my wife's Christmas staff party this evening. Wrapped in joy >:(

Can she not just fire them all so I can get out of this? Very, very selfish on her part. Three of them are Jehovah's Witness's and are offended at "Merry Christmas" so this is a "holiday staff party"  I'll be in rare and spiteful form and the ride home is going to be goooood 8)

I'm no expert, but I thought Jehovah's Witnesses were against ANY holiday celebrations, as opposed to other haters who just hate Christian related holidays

@PB Feelings get hurt if they're not included and besides, my wife buy$... soooo... there's that!  I have a Christ on the cross Crucifix I could wear around my neck :P but that will have things too edgy at the house if I go too far. I have an agenda and just the right amount of anger is of upmost importance ;)

I get all that and they should be invited, I'm just surprised they'd go to something related to a 'holiday' - aren't they the ones who don't even recognize their own kid's birthdays?.

I bet they'll take the time off around Christmas and New Years with no complaint too though.

I had a co-worker who was JW. She would take the weekend before Thanksgiving and have full turkey dinner. But since it wasn't ON Thanksgiving it was not a Thanksgiving celebration.
Her brother was living with a woman and that is forbidden. She had to "shun" him for many years because of it until they married. She only got about 3 years with him, he had kidney cancer and died. I thought it was quite sad that they lost SO many years the way they did.

Did the Christmas booze shopping today. Before you pass gas judgment please remember that we will have a house full on the 25th. That wasn't the plan originally or I wouldn't have bought the giant bottle of Irish cream.

Beer is not pictured. 8)

@Christmas Farm Penis Blasphemy!

I was speaking of the black sheep of liqueurs.  Yukon Jack.  I don’t know how cray cray you Canucks got with the stuff way back when but they sell 100 proof in the states and only 80 proof in your neck of the woods.

I have clinched and closed with the naked north. I have learned to defy and defend.  Shoulder to shoulder we have fought it out - yet the Wild must win in the end.

Get some culture. Not in a cup of yogurt.  Read some Robert Service.  Or If your wife will doubt your manhood for requesting a book of poetry for Christmas, just read the ads for Yukon Jack in the old Penthouse magazines.

There is a race of men that don’t fit in. A race that never will. So they break the hearts of kith and kin and they roam the world at will.

Au contraire monsieur.  Glinlivet is more akin to basic listerine mouthwash than it is to a properly cultured Greek yogurt.  If it was truly good stuff it wouldn’t last 21 years in a keg tucked away in a rat infested warehouse in @DynamoHum’s backyard.

Never understood the “charm” of Scotch.  Unless you want to grow up to sound like Janis Joplin.

So you don't understand why there are Scotch drinkers. Oookay.

Janice didn't drink Scotch - at all. Her thing was straight Southern Comfort, the US answer to Pukon Jack. Get your facts straight. She's dead, have some respect.

Sound like Joplin? Me? Well I did two songs for Friday nights Woo.. lemme know if I sound like a dead drunk unfortunate skank.

What's on the menu for your Christmas meals?  (Dinner/Breakfast)

My dinner menu has become a lot simpler since I've cut ties with some family, and backed out of commitments, ever since my outburst.  (posted somewhere early in this thread)  I feel liberated actually, with no guilt whatsoever.  Anyway...

Breakfast is always Buckwheat pancakes, peppered bacon, and eggs.

Dinner will be determined soon.  Cooking for 4 so it will be so much easier.  Beef tenderloin is on the menu, along with some versions of carrots and green beans.  Plus mashed potatoes in some form.  (Maybe Duchess?)  Banoffe Pie and a poppy seed roll for desert. (I think)

In our home growing up my father would make clam sauce over pasta for he and my mother, and my brothers and I would have spaghetti and Dad's garlic bread. My husband is able to replicate the clam sauce. On Christmas we have in the past done a turkey, but this year I'm thinking of a Chateaubriand with mushroom wine sauce etc.

@ShayP  Super rich thick and hoppy craft beer ALL FUCKING DAY!! ;D

But really::
Since 01 my wife has been making eggs benny every Christmas morning, sometimes even for a small army. They all leave after and return for dinner because they're all day barnacles looking for free stuff. Kidding. I still don't know what she does with that homemade Hollandaise sauce but it's divine and I could drink it like soup. She'll usually uses a nice deli shaved ham or smoked salmon. Or BOTH - this year as things have gotten out of hand with guests ::)  Would you please come yell at them for me?? ;D

No lunch needed because we'll be napping.

Dinner will be a classic extreme buttery Turkey basted in some concoction she learnt of while working in a Greek restaurant many years ago. Roasted garlic mash (I do those) Glazed carrots. Brussel sprouts done in chicken stock with bacon (again, don't know what she does but I'm glad she does it) And Paula Deen's mac n cheese (because my wife is a racist) ;D ;)

After that will be a flourless Chocolate lava cake. Originally it was supposed to be just US TWO! but now we have nine adults and four kids. Instead of the four kids I'd rather have baby goats running around the house ::) Compact little assholes who don't stop asking me for stuff. "I could throw you through the window you little shitbirds!" FUCK OFF!

I'm missing several details and finishing touches but you get the point.

PS  for my wife's staff party she took everybody (I paid for me) to the pea shoot chef's place.  Pictured you'll see the wilted pea shoots on the side of my plate. They were on TOP of my chicken masala.  I love masala sauce :-*

oh yeah, great stuffing of course  mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

A new experience last night - the brass group played Christmas music at a Chic-fil-a. They put on a big kids party. Someone wore a cow outfit with the cow wearing a Santa suit. Cute girl elves handed out little cows to the kids. It was a raucous event and nobody bitched about us being too loud. And at the end, we got free food - always a blessing for starving musicians.

Fun! Good chicken.

@anniem  Red or White clam sauce?  I love linguine with white clam sauce.  I had some family (very few) and several friends' families back in Pittsburgh that would have that on Christmas Eve.  Me, I've never had it on the holiday but wish I could.  I'm afraid I'd be cooking for one though.  The Chateaubriand sounds like a great idea. 8)  It seems that beef dishes are becoming a tradition for me the past several Christmases and since I'm doing the cooking I'm fine with that.  ;) :D

@juan  That sounds like a good time.  I never considered any musical group playing in a Chic-fil-a.  In fact I didn't know you could have parties there.  My knowledge of the place is nil.  I've eaten at one in a mall food court a very long time ago...probably 15 years or so.  I don't even recall if it was good.  It seems to be all the rage now.

Ah, linguine with white clam sauce. I think pasta on Christmas eve would not only satisfy the Italian in my Dad but was relatively easy to do before the turkey type dinner.  He cooked it for two, but tomato sauce wasn't too hard to do. Salad, garlic bread YUM.

@ShayP  Super rich thick and hoppy craft beer ALL FUCKING DAY!! ;D

But really::

@Christmas Farm Penis  "...pea shoot chef's place" and "Paula Deen's mac n cheese (because my wife is a racist)" equals LMAO!!!  Oh man that tickles me.  I needed a good laugh to start the morning.  The breakfast sounds divine.  Your wife can master a hollandaise sauce and you can't even line up the Santa's on wrapping paper?  tsk tsk. :-\   I kid man!  I kid.  ;)  ;D

Dinner for two would've been nice.  Did you get blindsided with the extra guests?  I'm with you regarding the kids.  When kids would be over they'd go through my stuff.  >:(  Their parents would say "Oh no.  It's okay."  What!!!??  No no no.  This is my place.  They can do what I say or they can sit their asses down and be quiet.  Well, that's what went through my head, annndd I may or may not have blurted it out loud one one occasion.  :D

Oh.  By the way, that looked like a nice little meal at wifey's staff party...minus the shoots.  ;)

CHEERS MAN!  8)

He was exited. For that chickens name was Siegfried. I am the only one to show him any appreciation. Unless you're talking about the pea shoots. They were in hysterics. :-\

I guess blindsided would be one way to put it, but truthfully we seemed to let ourselves get somewhat suckered in to hosting all the guests. AND KIDS.  The kids are all pretty cool on their own but when they're all hopped up on Christmas day as well as together in a group, they seem to be more like a gang of mini thugs up for hijinks and TOM Foolery. And they bring all their new toys over ::)  Bad me says I could just leave guns scattered around the house :P.. but i din say dat ;D

The staff party dinner was fantastic. Those portabellas mmmmm

Cabbage soup diet works great especially if you put in a bunch of hot pepper.  The trick is that you only eat the soup.

p.s. I just finished a slice of pumpkin pound cake with cream cheese frosting.

Summer is coming???  you're in SoCal!! It's summer now and always!!

As far as the cabbage soup diet goes ::) you wouldn't need to subject yourself to needless discomfort if you'd simply maintain year round. You people drive me nuts with this self foodstuff flagellation. Completely unnecessary!! Self Discipline. Don't let it come to that point!!

My bad. I did porch decor and such that didn't take fresh greens. Arches, chandeliers, and mantle all require fresh greens- that's tomorrow. It's a process.....

"Bah, humbug" no, that's too strong
Cause it is my favorite holiday
But all this year's been a busy blur
Don't think I have the energy

To add to my already mad rush
Just cause it's 'tis the season
The perfect gift for me would be
Completions and connections left from

Last year, ski shop
Encounter, most interesting
Had his number but never the time
Most of '81 passed along those lines

So deck those halls, trim those trees
Raise up cups of Christmas cheer
I just need to catch my breath
Christmas by myself this year

Calendar picture, frozen landscape
Chilled this room for twenty-four days
Evergreens, sparkling snow
Get this winter over with

Flashback to springtime, saw him again
Would've been good to go for lunch
Couldn't agree when we were both free
We tried, we said we'd keep in touch

Didn't, of course, 'til summertime
Out to the beach to his boat could I join him?
No, this time it was me
Sunburn in the third degree

Now the calendar's just one page
And, of course, I am excited
Tonight's the night, but I've set my mind
Not to do too much about it

Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas
But I think, I'll miss this one this year
Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas
But I think, I'll miss this one this year

Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas
But I think, I'll miss this one this year
Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas
But I think, I'll miss this one this year

Hardly dashing through the snow
Cause I bundled up too tight
Last minute have to do
A few cards a few calls

Cause it's "RSVP"
No thanks, no party lights
It's Christmas eve, gonna relax
Turned down all of my invites

Last fall I had a night to myself
Same guy called, Halloween party
Waited all night for him to show
This time his car wouldn't go

Forget it, it's cold, it's getting late
Trudge on home to celebrate
In a quiet way, unwind
Doing Christmas right this time

A&P has provided me
With the world's smallest turkey
Already in the oven, nice and hot
Oh damn! Guess what I forgot?

So on, with the boots, back out in the snow
To the only all-night grocery
When what to my wondering eyes should appear
In the line is that guy I've been chasing all year

"I'm spending this one alone," he said
"Need a break, this year's been crazy"
I said, "Me too, but why are you?
You mean you forgot cranberries too?"

Then suddenly we laughed and laughed
Caught on to what was happening
That Christmas magic's brought this tale
To a very happy ending

Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas
Couldn't miss this one this year

People visited for Thanksgiving and we changed the sheets after they left.
Today we changed the sheets before people arrived.
I don't get it, those beds lay fallow but it seems we need fresh sheets.
Why bother washing them for nothing then?
Also, Bairyn suddenly calls it bedding for the holidays.
I accepted sheets to mean pillowcases, too.
Now it is fancy bedding for Christmas.
5 unslept in beds got fresh BEDDING for the freeloaders.
Instead of giving them gifts I am donating to the human fund in their names.

Merry Bartmas.

Merry Christmas all.

Even the adults are watching Harry Potter today.

The rum flows and the cats have picked the non-pet owners' laps to lay on.

A ring, you say!  If flowers could last as long as a ring which would be the better gift?  Think about it, if you feel like fooling around you have to take the ring off exposing a white untanned strip on your finger but with flowers.. you just leave them at home and everybody thinks you're single and on the prowl. Grrrrr   But if you wanted everybody to know that were not on the market you'd have to lug the flowers with you everywhere :-\  And then you gotta fucking water them in public as you pack them from place to place. And what if someone bumps your table and knocked the flowers over and then it's an embarrassing mess and the flowers might not even recover!!

Fuckit!  Yeah let's stick with a ring.  But what if your finger gets chopped off? Then you'd be like "fuckin shit man why didn't I go with the flowers?? ::)"

I can't decide for you. I'm sorry.  :-X :-[ :'(

So far it seems everyone here had a wonderful Christmas. 8)  Mine turned out better than expected, especially considering my meltdown 2 weeks ago.  Even though I put off several relatives, I have no regrets.  It was a long time coming and I'm fine with burning those bridges.  Breakfast and dinner were a success and the evening was quite fun and relaxing.  Watched some old Christmas variety specials (Bob Hope, Carol Burnett, Lawrence Welk, just to name a few) and played some games.  Oh, and for the first time I can ever recall, I did not receive one article of clothing as a gift.  Thankfully!  I already have over 40 pair of underpants.  ;D

Cheers everyone!  :D  Here's hoping for a great upcoming New Year.

Well but I would NOT fool around, only take my wedding ring off when it is mandatory (surgery stuff) But I'd not like to tote flowers around, even if they were dipped in platinum or gold. Although if I were to somehow tie such a thing to my phone there would be less chance of losing them. Hm!

The Burning Bed is both a 1980 non-fiction book by Faith McNulty about battered housewife Francine Hughes, and a 1984 TV-movie adaptation written by Rose Leiman Goldemberg. The plot follows Hughes' trial for the murder of her husband, James Berlin "Mickey" Hughes, following her setting fire to the bed he was sleeping in at their Dansville, Michigan home on March 9, 1977, and thirteen years of physical domestic abuse at his hands.

The plot follows Hughes' trial for the murder of her husband, James Berlin "Mickey" Hughes, following her setting fire to the bed he was sleeping in at their Dansville, Michigan home on March 9, 1977, and thirteen years of physical domestic abuse at his hands.

She seemed to have getting revenge on abusive men as a theme. I saw her in an off-Broadway play called Extremities, by William Mastrosimone, which was also made into a movie.

"Fawcett won kudos for her 1983 role in the off-Broadway stage production of the controversial play Extremities, written by William Mastrosimone. She followed Susan Sarandon in the role, in which she played a would-be rape victim who turns the tables on her attacker. In 1986 Fawcett appeared in the movie version of Extremities, which was also well-received by critics, and for which she received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama." 9from Broadwayworld.com)

It was very violent, even on a small stage in a small theater. A very good friend was one of the producers of that play, so I got to meet her afterwards. She was exhausted but lovely, and was amused to hear we share the same birthday. She rattled off a list of famous people who also were born on the same day, as did I. It was fun.

But honestly she had a kind of haunted air about her. The onerous intensity of that play was still with her well after the production closed.

Iirc her relationship with Ryan O'Neal wasn't a bed of roses, either.

Complicated.
