Who's gonna tell Dave? 😃

You’re right. He probably thinks the Mississippi delta starts in Minnesota.
Are we having fun yet?

Minneapolis, Minnesota. 71F. Humid but not bad due to the rain.

Wouldn’t you have to technically be near a delta?

For sure! And I am. It’s flat as hell out here (not in Earle, but too far away). I could defenintely do something on the WM3. They did have the trials in my town, after all. Let me think on it and get back to ya.

A good truckstop/diner near me, Dorsett 221. (because at exit 221) burned down a few years back and then after some time returned as a gaming center. Signs of the times, though I hear it is actually a fun place with beer and lots of pinball machines.

More about the old places on IH-35, some of which are still around and some gone or in new formats like Dorsetts 221.

Thanks for the article, great stuff!
I hope that I remember to stop there next time I pass through. From what I understood it is still open?
So you are the one down by Waco and Temple.
I deliver Ice Cream down to either Temple, Georgetown, or New Brunfels at least one time per year.

I always swing by Salado because there is a trailer wash out there.

That was historically a stage-coach stop on the Chisholm Trai,l so interesting to see that modern truckers use it as a stop-off place to wash now! There is a restaurant there in the old building.

You would be surprised at how often I see that - plaques and everthing.
I will start posting as I visit them.
