Dear Ellgab,

I have a chance to go and see the B-52's this weekend.  I saw them live once before ages and ages ago.  It was one hell of a good time.
Do I want to risk spoiling that fun memory [and laying out alot of dough and sweating in the heat outdoors] to see a much older Cindy, Fred and Kate?

Mrs. Walks said she would go with me if I really, really wanted to go but I'm torn so to speak..........

Don't do it.
I don't believe you can spoil a memory but you could compare it to a memory and it will suck in comparison.

You made a mistake. Worst case scenario, you wasted an evening that would have been taken up with scrolling through the Falkie thread. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take, and it might have been good.

Only take the soup if it is the daily special.
If it is the same soup they have every day avoid it, they just pour unfinished soup back into the pot.

Go for it! Unless the band has gotten really bad (not likely), once the old hits start playing you will be glad you went. I have been going to Moody Blues concerts for many years and even though the band is older and one band member passed away recently, they are still great. There is nothing like hearing the hits in person.
