Well as recompense those of us who don't drink industrialized stuff get thousands of tiny craft breweries with virtually no distribution. It's funny, regional breweries grew out of the industrial revolution and have now run their course, while the real beer scene now resembles the middle ages where your tavern landlord brewed his own out back. A lot of awful stuff, but some nice.
Yep. And this model, at least here, is going to booze also. I'm still not sure how much of these breweries and distillers- much less wineries that take much longer to even be able to use own grapes- are actually making money and how much are boutique stuff by people who have money, kids of rich dotcom folks playing around, retirees who wanted a country place and a hobby. But the local guy who made Tito's Vodka made a killing and is super rich now but he was one of the first "in" when laws changed and allowed distilling and was able to get big, national and now maybe int'l distribution....
ps: I still think there is a place for large industrialized stuff. Sometimes you want a cheap, light beer you can drink all day and stay hydrated especially in the summer. When mowing, ballgame, fishing, tailgating, etc.
