Before this, they were as hated as (redacted due to certain sensibilities).  When this came out, their image did a complete 180.  Seemingly instantly.

I had a Rolling Stone Record Guide, which listed every rock album ever issued, with a comment on the band and on each album.  Each album was given rating of 1 through 5 stars.  A truly horrible album with no redeeming qualities, instead of stars was given a square black box.  In my edition of RSRG, every AC/DC album was given the black box.  The comment on the band included something about AC/DC ''trying to offend everyone within eyesight or earshot, and succeeding''.  After Back in Black came out, in the next edition they went back and gave all those earlier albums at least a few stars.  I wish I still had that.  It might be a good idea to let someone who at least likes the band review them.

Davao is down south where the Moro are, right? It's my limited understanding that those troubles go back to the Spanish era.

Yes, it's the big city in the southern region, which is called Mindanao.

The more recent troubles are Muslim insurgents kidnapping tourists for ransoms that fund their resistance to the government.

Some years back - I want to say this was the 1990s or early 2000s - there was a kid in Oakland who either met a girl on-line or knew her somehow otherwise.  She lived on one of the Muslim islands, and invited him to come visit.  They were in town and everything was fine, and she invited him to come to a village to meet her family.

He was captured and held of course.  He ended up making it back.

I should have prefaced this by saying To ME the near perfect album is one that I like every song.  There are so many that fall 2 or 3 short.

I like every song on every Led Zeppelin album, I, II, III, IV, Houses, and Physical Graphiti, although a few tracks work best when listening to the album as a whole and maybe not as standalones.

Same with the Doors albums, although they haven't aged quite as well as the others.

Foreigners who live here and know the score and how to handle themselves rarely have any problems.  It's the foreigners who are tourists, and naive about things, that are vulnerable and preyed upon.

I'll bet that Muslim chick was hotter than Manila asphalt.  Live bait.

I was quite fond of their live album, although from what I understand, the band's opinion has turned against it.

Any encounters with Sammy, Bart? I'm guessing he is a pretty good dude in real life but that's just a guess.

No sir.

The absolute best live album from the hard rock genre. Raw and real with no touchups and studio doctoring. Genuine hard rock gold.
