Dunno but hopefully you are at the ball park.  Detroit is in town to play the Mariners.  I'm watching live on Amazon - give me a wave.  ;)

Norway had only one bronze to show for their efforts up until yesterday, but they were really pumped about the men's 1500m race.  The defending Olympic champion was Jakob Ingebrigtsen, who is regarded as one of the best middle-distance runners of his generation.  His usual tactic is to lag near the back of the pack.  However, last year at the world championships he was stunned by Josh Kerr, who has a mighty kick.  So, for better or worse, he decided to set the pace in this race and put some daylight between him and the rest of the pack.

Well...he began running out of gas around 300m from the finish.  At the turn into the stretch, it was him and Kerr.  But then two Americans came charging up on both sides, and Ingebrigtsen staggered over the finish line in fourth place.  Cole Hocker was the American who won the gold.

Well...as you can read, this did not go over well within Norway.  Disappointment would be a given, but the seething fury in the press and social media is stunning.  Jakob better find hisself a good pair of fake eyeglasses and mustache for the trip home.

Yeah seems that Kerr and Ingebrigtsen have been trashing each other for some time and generally building up a jolly good rivalry.  I'm sure that Kerr was disappointed to not win the race but seeing Ingebrigtsen get fourth must have been a mommy kiss on that booboo

Bah.  Never saw Eric the Red - too bad.  Amazon simulcasted the M's TV broadcast and they have an Aussie color guy.  Little strange to hear that accent on a baseball broadcast.

BTW Detroit 4 Seattle 2

Haha good for her, she deserves it

https://x.com/Algeria_FC/status/1822019041029972124

It has come out that the test that supposedly found a Y chromosome was administered by a boxing organization owned by a Russian oligarch running a match in India that disqualified her only after she beat a Russian boxer, and that the test was not provided to the Olympics, there is a feud between boxing organizations.  Sussy as hell.  IMO the whole thing was an op because Russia was kicked out of the Olympics, and the magas just played right along.

Lacrosse would be sweet!

I was watching some new event with kayaks where they actually built a little round river with rapids and obstacles you have to go around and roll over and stuff holy cow the budget must be enormous they drop them out of those chutes and watch them go
