Hi Ellsters.

I read an interesting book about Atlantis several years ago. Can't remember the title but the premise was Atlantis was a large mid-Atlantic continent that bordered all the way from the Azores to Bermuda and the Carribean islands. Not woo woo but highly advanced mainly agricultural civilization.  It did perish/sink overnight. Caused by an earthquake or volcano? Can't remember.

The remains are the the mid-Atlantic ridge and islands mentioned above. The Mayans, Egyptians and Basque are the direct descendants. Also the intriguing theory that the destruction of Atlantis allowed the shifting of ocean currents which allowed the Gulf Stream to end the Ice Age
For all that is bad, there is good. For that which is despair, there is hope. For the moments of pain,
There are moments of love. For all that falls, there is the chance to rise again.

All of the above. Some even claim it was a worldwide antediluvian culture. Another theory is the USA is the "New Atlantis" Others claim Plato's story was a teaching story, an allegory.
I like that the former could abide with modern idea of Continental Drift. I think the other is more likely as with other Plato allegories for teaching subjects, infamously 'the cave' etc. But in different books, so? I think Iceland maybe?

Why never no Prester John shows ever?

Maybe Azores etc remnant and/or explain the Basques and unique language and culture- escaped to Iberian Peninsula and "hid out" in mountains from the flood or volcanic activity?

Please-please-please remember the name of that Book. I have heard that theory and it's very intriguing.

I find the Basques very interesting.  They were a very insular people.

I read a couple of books about Edgar Cayce years ago.

Just because a story is detailed or the reader prolific does not lend them more credibility - especially if the details can't be validated. I've seen this logical fallacy repeated much too often.

You didn’t learn the word “insular” in East Texas.
