Wow, a new Descent... Awesome.  I had the first one a long time ago.  It was pretty groundbreaking for the time.  It gave me a headache after around 15 minutes.

Yeah, sometimes they'll catch me a certain way and I simply can not play them. I was worried that the cartoon-ish look of Borderlands 2 might have that effect but I got lucky.

Lol.  I had that same feeling before I bought Borderlands 1.  I remember seeing it on a Steam sale for a ridiculous low price for the Game of the Year edition.  I put it in the cart, but wasn't sure if it was my thing.  FPS games are pretty much my favorite, and I thought I didn't have one like this so I'd get it just to have it.  I was expecting a low budget shooter that you just jump on for a few minutes when you have a little time to waste.  I started it up to try it for a few minutes...... four hours later, I had a much different opinion.  I love games like that catch you like that.

Here's another FPS that played really well on my low end laptop. Great graphics, gameplay, and controls. A decent story, and I'll bet that you can get it for dirt cheap on Steam. Buy the additional content if they offer a deal.

I'm a big RTS fan and the first game that I will download and play if I get a new laptop will be Napoleon: Total War. I've played it and played it on medium troop size and medium graphics but I CAN NOT WAIT to max everything out!!!

I had to go into my Steam library and check, I do own the first one with all the DLC.  I wait on great sales on everything so must've grabbed it.  I haven't played it at all though and actually have forgotten about it like so many others.  I think after my run on Fallout 4 which I just got last month I'll load up that one.  Thanks for the recommend.

Total War is a really impressive series.  I have a few but have never even finished a battle while trying it out.  I've played the Warcraft and Starcraft ones since the beginning and then some others.  Warhammer comes to mind that's pretty fun also.  Thanks for posting all these, you're getting me interested in trying out a lot of the games I haven't played yet.

You'll like it.  I don't think you can go wrong with Doom.   I just got it last year and played it through.  It's about time for another round.

Weiner, you're thread brought to mind these games.

European Truck Simulator 1 and 2.  American Truck Simulator.

My wife laughs when I play these.  She says it's funny because I'm always hitting keys or moving the mouse around a lot when I play, but on these, it's so quiet and I just move the mouse slightly to the left, or slightly to the right while hitting keys every now and then.

These things are addictive though.  Something about them.
