If you are a baseball fan, keep the name Kevin McGonigle in mind.  There is a fair to middlin' chance that he will be something special.  Lot of hand wringing in Detroit over whether they will take him North to the start the season.  He's never played a game in AAA but he's been ripping the cover off the ball this spring in Florida.

The Tigers gave Jordan Yost his first MLB Spring Training at bat today.  He hit a grand slam.   Jordan Yost is 19 years old.  His parents were at the game so they knew he was out of the house.

Team Italy was eliminated from the World Baseball Classic last night.  Their roster had three actual guys born in Italy.  The rest were Paisans from New Jersey.

Have no idea how fast this pitch was really but the gentleman throws hard.  The claim was 102.7

Fun boxscore Here

Mize starts for the Tigers.  He's on Super cruise through 6 innings. Only 93 pitches and in complete control of the game.  So of course they yank him and put in Anderson.  Anderson is a guy that there was never all that good in MLB so he went to Korea.  Tigers bring him back from Korea and they hit him all over there ballpark.  Next guy on the mound is Vest whom melts down and gets raped.  Hope is not yet lost as Detroit brings in Jansen who has another off season signing.  He has had an amazing career in MLB but he's 75 years old now.  He gets rocked and it's all over.

The Tigers ace starter is Tarik Skubal.  Most think he is the best starter in the game and is gonna ask for $400 to $500 million after this season when he becomes a free agent.  He has exactly one complete game in his career.  *SIGH*
