The ever faithful Variegated Weigela. Average lifespan of this shrub is supposed to be 20 to 30 years or maybe 40 with proper care. From the previous owners mine must be over 40 years old. I have never given it any care of any kind.

The back alley is generally filled with snowberries, goldenrod and tansy. Occasionally, something interesting will pop up. Last year, of all things, wild thyme. At least I assume that's what it is.

But what is this? I have never purchased parsley, grown parsley or even used parsley. Apparently it is parsely. I might be wrong. But how did it get there? And I only discovered it yesterday.
