This morning. Supposedly died at the Love Ranch. No foul play suspected.

Well, he wasn't exactly a spring chicken or a clean liver.
There was a little girl,
            Who had a little curl,
Right in the middle of her forehead.
            When she was good,
            She was very good indeed,
But when she was bad she was horrid.

That Omnia 6 airchain processing makes everything sound better :)

I had to Google that and I am still not sure what it all does but the station does sound very good on the stream.

It shapes the soundwave just before it is sent to the transmitter by cutting off certain very high frequencies with a limiter, amplifies the bass tones, stereo boost, and a few other effects. Its basically the reason that hearing the same song on our own systems sounds rather flat.

Dave's natural baritone gets extra help.

In the old days all the stations had Orban Optimods.

I'm thinking Karen may not show this afternoon. Usually she is on air by this time.

Thanks for the info. It's too bad Karen isn't on but I will check back in next show.

YW, I'd try tomorrow at 2 pm pacific.

Someone earlier had asked earlier about the local commercial with the do wap tune.  Its for Desmoni Plumbing to the tune of Dion and the Belmonts - Teenager in Love.

;D And I thought I had heard them all on KNYE - was it one of Guaraldi's well known Peanuts tunes such as "Linus and Lucy" or his famous jazz staple "Cast your fate to the Wind?"

Pahrump might not be everyone's taste, but there is something unique in the color of the desert sky there. I'm still drawn to the place, nothing to do with Art, but because the area reminds me of my starseed home planet  ;D

It was "Cast Your Fate to the Wind". It was a pretty song to listen to while driving out of town towards Las Vegas.

Thank you.
I think that may well be KNYE's jazziest tune!

Karen is on the air!

The word is she is still running the Dennis Hof ads at request of the campaign. If he wins the Governor will appoint someone.

The local commercials are interesting to hear and I am somewhat surprised how many different advertisers they have.

There is also a huge variety in the style of commercials. Most a very musical. I've heard pretty much every local business there is at one time or another, so 30 second spots must be pretty inexpensive.
