Today's show is centering on the Nye County Sheriff's race. (politics shows are typically on Thursday afternoon). It is a paid political program featuring candidate Tony DeMayo.

Lots of dirt as expected on incumbent Sheriff Wehrly and her mismanaged and wasteful department. If true, its mind boggling.
Fidget spinners and ethically questionable billboards in the budget when the Deputy positions are unfilled due to budget shortfalls? Wehrly declines interviews at KNYE.

Not early, but just a formal interview versus the normal mixed music and birthdays and trivia questions, banter, etc. She always seems to have a casual schedule give or take half an hour to an hour.

Karen is talking about Art dying. Karen said the detective lied. The detective told Karen they did not want it out to the public until the monday but they released it on facebook on the friday night. She says the direct lie was saying that nobody contacted them.

Either the deputy she talked to didn't communicate or didn't pass this up the chain of command or they are lying. Neither situation makes them look professional.

Another called just mention officers using their squad cars for personal use and allowing friends to use the cars while they were on vacation.

I get the impression that Wehrly had too many years in the Federal Protective/Tactical arena with sky high budgets and not enough experience in hands-on small town law enforcement and criminal investigation.  I bet the morale and discipline are suffering as a result.

the police are allowed to and in fact trained to lie.
statistics can be used to prove anything. 14% of the people know this.
