I'm fascinated by Victorian post-mortem photography, but I thought that might be too dark for this thread.
Oh yes! It's not dark at all. It is a wonderful snapshot of a place and time that is so hard for us to relate to now. I think it's beautiful and sentimental but also wonderful. I mean to be able to have an opportunity to snatch a last glimpse of life...of what could be...but will not. The family photos with the babies or children propped up with the rest of the family in their best clothes to get one last portrait. Heartbreaking.
