the legalization of pot
« on: October 23, 2018, 10:15:06 PM »
I don't agree with it.
I think it's a gateway drug.
Which reminds me, back in 70 or so my bud got a felony for one seed in his pocket..
no voting, no owning a gun.
I knew a guy in the 60s, sent to prison for an ounce I think it was.
When he got out he was very anti government..moved to a commune.
I heard he started cultivating but who knows, lost track of him.

i agree with it. i also want the legalization of all drugs. reason:
stop violence from black marketeers protecting their "turf". this results in to many innocent people getting injured or killed. 1 innocent getting killed by criminal gangs over drugs is one to many. stop this violence.

people will do drugs regardless of the legal status of their drug of choice.
move drug production from criminal gangs that use any and all means to protect their wares, to domestic controlled production so at least the drug will be of consistent quality, helping to avoid overdoses.
this takes all the money out of the black market and puts the products into a taxable form (although i am against most taxes, but thats another rant).
im not sure why alcohol and tobacco are legal (accounting for associated diseases , the #1 and #2 killer of people worldwide) and these others are not "legal". and i am as anti alcohol as they come. reasons are for another thread.
statistics can be used to prove anything. 14% of the people know this.

Super pro. Smoked a lot when I was younger. It's never been a gateway drug for me. I have never had any issues quitting it either. It has zero withdrawls when you quit as well, well at least none that I have experienced. I have never done anything I regret on it, unlike drinking. I don't get angry on it, actually when I have smoked I don't really get off of my couch, order a lot of pizza and play a lot of video games. LOL

I also agree with WR250 about his reasons for making it legal. I'm happy I get to vote on it Michigan next month. It's already legal medicinally but if it passes for recreation it will help the state in many ways.
Also as someone who has anxiety issues from time to time it's helped a whole lot with that vs pharmaceutical drugs.

Edited: timebandit you do know that Heather smokes weed, right? lol

Pro!
NEVER been a gateway to anything else for me.
And right now, all the creams, oils and tinctures help the darn carpel tunnel / arthritis I’ve been afflicted with in my hands and fingers!
Also, smoking has always and still helps my anxiety and stress.
I was very happy to finally be able to cross it off my bucket list ..   medical right now, let’s see if Michigan passes total legalization next month.

It's a shame really, you'd think she would have a variety of choices given where she lives.

Other weird random things that happen to me if I smoke:

I only like The Beastie Boys when I am high as well as The Doors and Pink Floyd. Don't ask I have zero explanation. I laugh a lot, get very introspective and actually get quiet. It calms my mind down. I actually have had the joy of ingesting it and it's awesome. In pill form for me it lasts longer and has zero of the side effects of actually smoking. Oh and musically, as far as playing my bass had an excellent time doing that and learning to play along with guitar while in this state that I never could have done otherwise. I would have over thought it. So for me it's a God send.

19 year olds who can't drink legally in Michigan do, or at least they used to. LOL Used to be right of passage to go get drunk in Windsor but that was a long time ago.

Heh all drugs are gateways to strippers including alcohol. But I would say coke more than anything. Although I don't do uppers ever. I am high strung enough as it is. Other than my daily caffeine in my coffee. Me on uppers would be terrifying.
