I don't have a great memory.  But I seem to recall him posting one night that he was terminal (cancer? Parkinsons?) and found BG to be one of the things he still really enjoyed.  If it was a way to break up his night and something that he enjoyed I honestly hope he finds his way here. 

Also, he seemed like a decent person from his posts and somebody who did contribute to the banter most nights.

Telegraph operators used to type XXX for “end of transmission. XXX in roman numerals equates to 30.

I have seen -30-  and ### and ##### all used depending on which journalism school the person went to.  Ham operators of course are used to XXX or 30.
