Ringo has an inbuilt radar for finding and rolling in poo. To save my sanity and ease my ire, it is easier for me to record the instances of his defecatory gymnastics.

20th June 2019

Fox Poo.

Everywhere on his body, 30 mins before I have to start work.

Resolution:
Dog showered and bathed, harness and collar washed, owner second shower of the day and second set of clothing changed. Bathroom bleached and cleaned.

Shock Collar

Shock collar? No! Never! Completely unnecessary in virtually any circumstance. Not to mention that you would have to catch the dog right before rolling in said shit. What good is an electrical warning during the act?

I love the way English has evolved in different places. Cricket pitch and standpipe are words that would not occur to me to use, but I perfectly understood them.

Cricket pitch = Front hole
Standpipe = Front stick

Yeah, I get it.  🙄🙄🙄🙄
Eh, nevermind...

14 was Sofia's name before her most recent change. I think she's sneaking on to your property and wiping her bum with your doggy!!!!

Ringo sniffs, finds, rolls then eats :(
@DynamoHum A question if I may, and I'm being serious! When Ringo passes will you bury him in your yard/property.. I do that. Two cats and three dogs now with nicely marked places.  Correction, Henry's ashes were spread on my front lawn. He loved it there watching people walk by HIS fence. Never caused any trouble but he would stare ya down as you walked by.

We aren’t sure if this is our forever home yet (5 years in!)...we still have his predecessor’s ashes waiting to go somewhere. I wouldn’t want to leave him if we went somewhere else. If we do stay and Ringo has gone then we’ll probably take him and JR down to the Thames and bury them both on the bank somewhere, it is Ringo’s favourite walk as he likes to swim and JR liked it a lot as well.

If we don’t stay then the next place will be it (I hate moving, it’s a faff), then we will find them a nice place in the new garden where they can be with us.

It’s silly really isn’t it? I am a lot more sentimental than I let on. Well I am about my pets, humans, sod em.

Left side covered.

This was despite a fellow dog owner gesticulating wildly at Ringo as he was in mid roll in the meadow by the house. I think Ringo thought he was being cheered on.

He then proceeded to run at full pelt like he was proud of himself or something.

Bath and showered in “Fox Poo” brand shampoo.

Still stinks.

I did worry about using the word standpipe as I wasn’t sure what the US term for it was and I do modify my language a little for you lovely colonials :)
As far as I know, the US term for standpipe is...standpipe.  Buildings in New York City have signs indicating distances to standpipes or locations thereof, by that word.

We do, however, also have connections we call (fire) hydrants near the curb on the sidewalk.  Sometimes known as fireplugs.  But the ones in association with buildings are called standpipes.  Don't ask me why they make that distinction.

Why the hell do they want to roll around in fkn POOOOooo??
Dogs are instinctively, predators.  They roll in excrement because it's the strongest odor that masks their scent.
Prey will run instantly when they smell a predator.  But they're not so anxious when they smell shit.
I mean, how fast can a turd run??? ;D
