Not going to argue the morality of killing an animal to eat.  But I will state that if not for doing so there would be a lot of people starving and malnourished.  Could people change from beef to poultry or fish for health?  sure.  Not arguing for or against that either.  but you still would need to "kill" a lot of animals to keep feeding the masses.  Unless you want to go the soylent green route.  I eat a lot of chicken/eggs as I have an allergy to fish.  I eat a lot of vegetables.  But chickens are animals too so they fall under your morality of being uncivilized.

Where do you draw the line at being civilized or not?  10?  20?  100?  10000?  Or any animal?  If killing a small amount of animals is civilized how is killing more uncivilized?  Either it is civilized or not.  Amount is irrelevant.

If I kill 1 human for food as oppose to killing 100, is that more civilized?

corporations kill in mass for profit and money. its ok if you are starving and need to eat.

Maybe a better host/interviewer would have asked such an important question

Again, I am not arguing for or against eating animals.  Not the point of this.

However, due to how society has grown and become more urban, as opposed to rural, this has become a necessity.  We are no longer a society where most people live in rural areas and have their own farms or land to keep livestock.  We buy eggs from the store, chicken, beef, fish.  This is the case in much of world now, not just the united states.  Now people can choose to purchase things such as "cage free eggs," which I personally do, in an effort to keep the experience not as bad.  However, I simply do not have the facilities to raise my own chickens right now.  Besides, city ordinances frown upon said activity as well.  And that does not even begin to consider having my own milk cow.  I certainly can go and hunt deer if i so choose and then freeze the meat for later use.  But the vast majority of people do not hunt.  And if they did, the deer population would decrease at a dramatic rate to the point of being endangered.  Thus you have cattle.

If you want to end the mass slaughter of animals then you may as well hope for 50 to 80 percent of the human population to die off and for humans to completely change how we function as a society.  Basically go back to a rural society like we were before the industrial revolution.

Like it or not, there are a butt load of humans on this planet.  Either they eat or they die.

Wanted to add that if you throw in reincarnation then you open up another can or worms.  Do we come back not only as humans, but also as animals or even plants?  Do we come back as cows?  If we do, then would that not change our approach to eating beef?  Would that force us to find other ways to feed the billions on the planet?  Even if we wanted to, could we?

Ok, just realized what he was talking about.  Heather asked this question when he originally called in.  I think it had like 3 finger like things.  Not sure if it had nails.

It was near the start of the show, he said the hand had 3 fingers and like nubs instead of nails, so im guessing how it looks then you bend your finger. That's what I could make out anyways.  :D

She has said she is terrified/terrifying at least a hundred times tonight.

Talking about the hamburger from the cow which has a soul.  And plants that may have souls.

Caller talking about being at sonic and a truck with cattle on it drives in.  Then everybody from the sonic goes out and pets the cows while having a hamburger in hand and how hypocritical that is.  Sigh.....really?  how many people eating at a sonic would stop eating, get out of their cars, go and pet cows in a cattle truck?  Too many made up stories.  Not even good ones.

Most cows don’t like being touched. Did the people just stick their hands into the holes on the cattle trailer? That would greatly upset the cows, I would think.

I think you’re out of touch with the cow community. They actually love to be petted. You must still be use to those pissed off entitled Japanese kobe cows.
