LOL, I remember playing the old Star Trek game on a dot matrix printer in the school counselors office.
I miss the screechy dot matrix printers and tractor feed paper, DOS based programs, monochrome green monitors, and loud clicky keyboards. The 5 1/4 floppies were kind of a pain but the 3 1/2 disks were nice.

I miss the sound of dial-up connecting to the internet. :D

That was an interesting noise as well. Its amazing to have lived a life where you can still vividly recall that computers were something only big companies had to today where they are everywhere.

I recall the first one I saw was a mainframe with reel to reel tape memory and lots of blinking lights.

No guest listed on Heater's page...the drama continues

35 minutes to showtime, still nothing on her page... bets for a show tonight? I say no better than 50-50, leaning towards no show or last-minute open lines.

She can't have no internet, she's been on FB on and off the last few days. Not as often as usual, but still that green dot has been there now and again...

Like a Maricone intro to a show-down or Mexican stand-off or some stuff like before, or during break, a long (but good) epic like Laurence of Arabia, Dr. Zhivago, Gone With the Wind, etc?

This music (Glenn Danzig - CWN Anwnn) from the Black Aria album is not playing from the studio directly, so its not her DJing it like we usually have at this point.

I wonder if the catfish upchucked in the back of her mouth and she's trying to stay off social media but just can't stay away for too long.

She's in luuuuuv...

Oh, sorry that was an excuse 5 weeks ago.  She won't use it again until next week.

Oh, noooo. You are all giving me the willies here. I have several boxes of old 5 1/4" AND 3 1/2" disks and external drives to read them in since all my old photos and files are still on them. I very rarely use them, but once in a blue moon I dig one out to pull up an old file. Fortunately most of the time (sadly not all) I was meticulous about labeling them.

And @Sergeant Major, you once again are psychic mentioning DOS. I had to go into a DOS command line today to pull up a bunch of ip configuration info on several computers to get them re-licensed on my mirror-backup software, and it took me a while to remember how to copy from dos and paste into word, and also print directly from the dos file! Jeez! Had to dust off the brain cobwebs a bit!

Still nothing on HW's page, the odds are worsening for a show tonight.  ;D
