There is a great novel there for the taking. I'm not sure on the legalities but there must be a way to do it.
Authors get away with fictionalizing events based loosely on how they imagine certain real life events transpired.  It would be so good

Pete worked with Art and Keith when they were getting MITD going. He was selling ads for the show.
