i beg to differ, ma'am. in my gifted hands the M4 clone that i own could and would dispatch multiple home invaders. I use NATO hard ball rounds as ammunition - the round breaks up inside the body and bounces around. neat.

stress- things are a little different under stress, moving fast
paint- apparently you own a cleaning company

I would say size and length, caliber, use....I would call it a machine pistol, or sub-machinegun, depending on the model and especially if it is the real kind with selective firing capacity.

I think there is an argument about using calibers popular in usage  from whatever potential enemy (cartels, UN, China, Russia, etc) so when the SHTF you can use ammo gained from them afterwards or even in the battle space.

the little lady has her own AR. she also backs me up with the 12 gauge. she also has her own assortment of pistols. very capable, even tho shes only 5'2.

stress? moving targets? im confident real life experience and training would take over.

In my home state they recently passed a law that requires ammo purchasers to join a registry. Handloading provides me the out, except for rimfire. And until prices skyrocketed, I really liked .22 Long Rifle as a cartridge.
