I ate a few of those last week for the first time. I didn’t know what I had been missing.

Fuyu?

Fuyu?

I don’t know what kind. They had been peeled so I didn’t see the rind. They were perfectly sweet.
Are we having fun yet?

Well, depending on liver and kidney system and intake of booze I guess that could be a way to brine it? An odd way but to each their own, I guess. Just let whatever family members or guests on the method prior to the Thanksgiving dinner.

No gravy for me, thanks.

Texas ones? I suspect? They grow wild.

Not sure. A Thai friend of mine cut them up for lunch. Probably got them at HEB or Fiesta.

What flavor?
Somehow, and I'm sure Freud or worse Jungian could have a field-day with it, but when put on the stand, in rare times I order ice cream, which is rare, I go for vanilla. Sometimes, after a rare bit of hazing or comments about being lame, I will go for coffee or pecan.

Fuyu's are my favorite. They are the kind of flattened ones. Orange in color.

French Vanilla, Vanilla Bean and Cheesecake are probably my favorites.

Ha. Decades ago I had a friend who had to stay home at an apartment and not go home for Thanksgiving and decided to cook a Turkey. Somehow, the guy was an engineer but, apparently, not a cook or common sense, and microwaved a bird bit and got hospitaized due to food poisoning. It was bizarre and we gave him shit about it for years. Because so ridiculous (and since he recovered so it could be 'funny.')

Mr. FLB is a vanilla guy. I tease him, but really, vanilla guys are good people.
