I should have asked him, how do the stuffing and gravy work without a turkey?

Keep up @anniem , the "turkey" was a roll and it was stuffed with, wait for it, vegetables and stuff then coated with crumbs of some sort. The "gravy" was in a packet. All this for the low, low price of $18. We cooked 3 of these. Not exactly cheap.

The Finns would never content themselves with a continent untouched by alcohol.  The nearest the Indians had to strong drink was a caffeinated beverage made from a holly relative that you drank until you puked.

Central America is a different story with its corn beer, which I understand can get potent.  If I were looking for Finns, I'd start there.
I think there is some nasty type of "beer" made from milk or cactus the various natives from Mexico and south made? But pre-European (not distilled as they do now.) But I figure the Finns would bring their own on their conquests. And Bill from Madison might agree. Not sure why our N.American Indians didn't brew stuff? I guess tobacco and/or weed was sufficient?

I used to work at Kroger. The store had 2 electric golf kart things for old people to ride while they shopped. We used to turn the outer perimeter of the inside of the store into a NASCAR track, and one person would push a driver full speed, 3 laps at full push speed for a whole circuit which made the corners very tight. These things drove at about 3mph, but at running push speed it was atleast 15mph, indoors with serious cornering. One night we hit the outer cold counter and did a lot of damage to the stainless trimming as well as the electric vehicle. We parked the kart and went back to work. I think we were all on drugs at the time.

Back then we raced shit and didn’t even think about a helmet. Now days they say you’ve got to put a helmet on a kid just to jump in the ball pit.

Oh I forgot about pulque, thank you!  I think weed is an import, too.

Yeah, the question of fermentation in N. America is an interesting one.  They had corn and, in the Great Lakes at least, rice, so it wasn't from a want of starch.

And presumably they also had various type of fruit trees which, in some cases, can almost naturally ferment, even if they weren't actually managing them you'd think some, a few, would come across such a thing and make a rudimentary "wine."  (cue youtube funny videos of animals getting drunk.)  A strange situation since once initiated they took to strong drink with quite a passion.

I bet! That chainsaw thing ran across your mind didn’t it?

The only thing on my mind was, "why?". The wife says I can have turkey for Christmas.

If I had to guess, it would be the inability to store liquid in a vessel for long periods rather than absence of any raw materials.  The natives out here used baskets for water-carrying.

In the southwest, though, pottery was pretty advanced.  I wonder if anyone has tested them for beer residue.
