If she DID take the time and effort to roast a young duckling for 4 hours at 300 degrees, as that recipe shows, it seems odd that most of the other items on the menu were quick and cheap boxed or canned ingredients. She is like the little boy that cried wolf, so many lies. Even when she tells the truth it's hard to believe her. Happy Holidays.
I don't know -- you have the homemade pie and bread, and I am not churlish enough to fault her for not creaming her own corn. Jury is out on the potatoes; the lid hides the evidence. The only thing you might ding her for is the stuffing and, given the meager cavity she had to work with, that's forgivable. I started out thinking it was a culinary Potemkin village but now, overall, I'm impressed. Happy Holidays to you, too, and thanks everyone for your great analysis!
