Did the movies from the 80s cause seizures? It seems like those are pretty flashy as well. Like the fighting scenes when they are in their space jets shooting those guns. That's pretty flashy.
I apologize that I don't know the proper names of the ships on Star Wars lol.
Apparently not. The two news articles I saw said these new effects are more powerful and flash at faster rates, thus are more problematic for those with epilepsy or a tendency to seizures. I don't know any of this first hand, this is just what I read today.
I confess I stopped watching the Star Wars films after the third one. I was at the opening showing of the first one on the first day in NYC, loved that and the next two, but by then had had enough. But then big franchise films aren't my main cup of tea anyway.
I was really happy, however, that one of my cable tv channels had a Godfather marathon this weekend, and I watched much of Godfather II, which I surprisingly did not remember so well. I vividly remember going to the first film right after it opened in a theater in Bensonhurst, Brookyn, in a heavily Mafia-run neighborhood. I was fascinated to notice that when the heads of the families had a meeting and spoke in Sicilian, the audience reacted to the jokes and dialogue before the English subtitles popped up!

LOL
