oh wow, saw that movie on MST3K
Comet was playing MST3K on Sunday nights but now they've got a summer monster fest showing in the slot.  I'm hoping MST3K is just on hiatous and will back in the fall.

Browns haven't been the same since coming back. Dawkgpound a joke too. NFL's product has gone far downhill since those days.
I used to be a Brown's fan but lost interest in the NFL.  I just stick with college football, now.  Come on September!

It's posted on bellgab.com that MV and Curtis are doing The Spec Sheet on Wednesday at 8 PM ET. Links to UFOShip.com

Wow, interesting development.  :o :o

"I (Michael Vandeven/mv/Liberace) will make an exclusive appearance on The Spec Sheet (it's a podcast about tech) with Curtis Thornton on Wednesday the 11th at 8PM East, 5PM West."

I can confirm that a cheap purchase (there actually was a guvmint program to give them free when the digital "switch" happened but I missed that) of a digital antenna is a great thing. You get, as mentioned, good tv (yes, you will have commercials, often for various insurances or medical devices and, yes, depending on area, you will get a lots of foreign language programming- which can be funny. Mexicans have some crazy shows. Lots of fat hosts and hot chicks and costumes. And it would seem that the various Orientals love home-shopping for weird herbs.)  Also, depending on signal, you will get BETTER HD than cable or internet on stations showing ball games or shows since the major networks also broadcast.

I credit ItsOver for encouraging me to get. And I don't regret it. I bring also when traveling and been able to pull in ballgames etc or use to get news in places where cables, internet, or sat dishes down (like after the Harvey, storm not movie/play.)

ATSC 3 will be interesting.

Past the annoyances of having to buy yet another converter box, the broadcast model is going away from one large  source antenna towards many smaller source antennas. It will allegedly be a push for more localized programming, but will the media conglomerate overlords allow any breathing room for this to happen? And will the FCC allow ma-and-pa stations to pop up more easily? Time will tell.

Yes, I think we've had some discussions about this back on BG. I also see this as just another way for more advertising, data-mining, government surveillance, and criminal activity. Though also interesting that unlike the previous it is not "mandated," so how many stations will do it?  I'm not saying, though it is possible, that it is a grand conspiracy but that the technology will be used for nefarious purposes, in addition to some "good" as with all technical innovations. There also are some who claim bad effects on people and nature with all the increased RF traffic (this and soon 5G) though I won't make science or medical claims because don't know or seen real studies. I also would be curious for any investigations with regard to "refresh rates" and brain activity with the newer systems.

They just admitted on the LNM Discord that they don’t know whether or not there is a show tonight.
Still no guest posted yet, either.

Here's a "devil's advocate" post.  I am not saying I believe any part of it to be true, but what if.....

Ok, what if HLW has some info about KR that would be harmful to his rep. if it came out.  Not illegal, but embarrassing.  Someone else on BG brought up awhile back that KR + HW were an item.  Something that only she would know, or very few would know.  Suppose now that she split with DMDN she gives this info to WhiskeySourVara, and he is now trying to use that against KR.  Just saying it's plausible.  The 2nd part is this....why would KR want to "hack" into LNM at all?  And does he have that capability?  And lastly, HLW could be just an ugly woman, or a fairly attractive man.

It is not mandated yet, but it will allow more stuff to be crammed into the increasingly limited wireless spectrum- so I would not be surprised if it becomes mandatory some time down the road. There is a rule currently that says if you offer ATSC 3, you must also offer the "old" ATSC 1 broadcast for at least 5 years. This may be extended.

Studies on the "refresh rate" of the eye have shown so far that some nerves can fire up to 1000 times per second. However, it is a diminishing return once you start to climb into the hundreds of frames per second.

Welcome, btw, to those who are who they say they are, and to those who are who they seem to be, and also to those who aren't!   :D
