What are the big barley plans? Beef, barley? :)  @ShayP

I have yet to be disappointed by anything Milwaukee tools makes although I do find their color scheme to be ugly, and that has me as a Black and Yellow DeWalt snob like a guy who rides a Harley even though other bikes are better made. There's something I can do today! Pull all my DeWalt tools and attachments out and clean them all up. That'll take hours!  :)   I'll throw on Operation Mindcrime and get the party started!

@KSM32  I do like DeWalt.  Had a nice set years ago but somehow it got taken stolen from me in my divorce.  Along with my cabinet of Husky hand tools. >:(  Anyway, I do like what I purchased though.  :)

Regarding the barley...several times a year I make big batches of soups and freeze them. Typically 3 different kinds. Some times more. Beef Barley is a staple. It is probably one of my best if I do say so myself.  Navy Bean and Ham, French Lentil, Vegetable, and a nice base for Chicken Soup -- then I'll just add noodles, rice, or matzo balls when I'm ready to finish it.  I also make a mean New England Clam Chowder but I don't freeze too much of that.  To me it doesn't hold up flavor or texture wise after freezing so I try to do it per meal.

Anyhoo...Enjoy the tool cleaning and rocking out to Queensryche with Geoff Tate's operatic vocals.  :D  8)

Cheers man!

I have a complete dewalt 18v collection but got tired of buying batteries.  My Makita 18v batteries last forever. I only have about 6 Makita tools but it will be a long time before I buy another dewalt tool.

Out of my price range.  When I was shopping around they were the priciest, along with DeWalt.  I've never used a Makita product but I did think about getting the drill set because of the specs, but like I said...PRICE.  I saved $40 with the Milwaukee and I'm happy with it so far.

Ha, @ShayP.  I've got to stop speed reading.  At first I thought you had typed George Takei.

Hell no! @GravitySucks  NEVER!  LOL!  When I was serious about my profession I had a nice knife roll set.  Wustof was the brand.  Purchased it about 20 years ago for $300 and it is long gone.  I do have a particular knife manufactured from your original homestead that I've used regularly for quite a while.

A guy I trained then worked with for several years was a knife freak.  Very passionate about quality of the steel and the sharpening process, etc.  Nobody I ever met could put an edge on a blade like he could.  Anyway, back to my knife.  The person I referred to purchased a 'lot' of knives from a defunct Chicago cutlery company.  I do not know the name.  What I can recall is he bought a wooden crate of knives, etc, for a set price at auction.  The crate and a few of the knives had a very faded emblem and date.  All that was recognizable was the city of Chicago and the manufacturing date was some time in the 1950's.  You could see the first 3 digits of the date but the last was faded.

He then gifted me a knife.  10 inch, 100% carbon steel with a Rosewood handle, chef knife.  It has a nice patina as well.  You sharpen that blade and it will be a long while since you have to again.  I'll never give it up.  the bonus for me is there is no bolster.  The tang goes right into the handle.  I hate bolsters on knives.  Anyway...  Thanks for reading.  LOL!  ;) ;D

LOL! @Rikki Gins Yeah, please slow down.  Definitely not George Takei but you planted a seed in my head.  I envisioned him as the singer of that band.   ;D
