 While Arbuckle saw a resurgence in his popularity immediately after his third trial (in which he was acquitted) Zukor decided he had to be sacrificed to keep the movie industry out of the clutches of censors and moralists.
 He later worked as a film director under the pseudonym William Goodrich. He was finally able to return to acting, making short two-reel comedies in 1932–33 for Warner Bros.
Arbuckle died in his sleep of a heart attack in 1933 at age 46, reportedly on the day that he signed a contract with Warner Bros. to make a feature film.

The first thing Fatty saw was the glass jar, full of what looked like sickly bingo marker pellets. It was no doubt a prank by someone who had paid the maid to sneak it in.

But the contract was very specific. NO BROWN M&Ms.‡

And now Fatty would make the hotel sorry.

‡ Obviously these were time-traveling M&Ms from a godless future.

@Camazotz Automat: 100 points

Just when I was about to send in Mr. Chan to deliver a clever remark, up popped Mr. Automat with the correct state, Oregon.  Notice the two names on the back of the card, Marshfield and Coos Bay.  They are both the same place.  Apparently it started out as Marshfield and ended up Coos Bay, which, by the way, is a very nice town on the Oregon Coast.  Stop and give it a look see if you happen to be driving up or down 101, otherwise known as the Pacific Coast Highway.
