I didn't like that movie.  I couldn't grasp it when I was young.  I was maybe 10 or 11.  Anyway, wasn't there a mention that the dwarf was a serial killer, and it was implied that Donald Sutherland's character was still in a bad state of mind and imagined that was his daughter?

I attempted to watch it again several years ago, with an adult mind, but as it started my gut said 'nope.'

Ah, Sutherland. That reminded me of “Invasion of the Body Snatchers.” The remake with Donald wasn’t bad at all, but I still prefer the original.

Now feral and bloodthirsty, Winnie-the-Pooh and Piglet terrorize Christopher Robin and a group of young women at a remote house.

I'll wait until it comes to cable and watch it just for shits and giggles.
