4-26-22   Dugan and Dixon were a couple of vaudevillians who rented an upstairs room from Mrs. Hoople. They appeared off and on
during the first few years of the strip. (The 15 dollars may not sound like much, but back in 1922, it was worth $288.44 in
               todays money.)

I wonder if Shantz secretly hopes Greason kicks it so he can get the title.

I'm inclined to think so, for no other reason than that everyone would like to hold a record of some sort. In this case, I wasn't able to find any current info on Greason's health, though he did throw a ceremonial pitch in June of 2024.

Bill Greason

There was an update on Bobby Shantz's current state in his Wiki profile:

Quote
According to an interview with The Athletic, as of August 2025, Shantz lives in Ambler, Pennsylvania with his wife Shirley. They own a dog named Jake. He formerly operated a bowling alley and a dairy bar in nearby Chalfont, Pennsylvania, with his former Athletics teammate, Joe Astroth. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing golf. Health limitations include a bad hip, and he can no longer travel, but overall, he "feels good". He frequently watches baseball on television.

Thus far, Mr. Greason has held the oldest player title for 6 months & 9 days. He had to wait 2 years & 8 months to get it.

OK @Walks_At_Night You're a tech guy, right? Sort of?

What and why is this? The title of the musical selection is Side 1  Why is the media player showing this all the sudden?

OH - see picture

I believe you have to oil them up to toss them on a slip and slide.

Last week I was visiting the Reichstag building, I had no idea there was a dome that you could walk up there.
Bairyn is working here for part of the year so I am left to explore.
I get halfway up and I see my first German midget!
He is running down the ramp and he is speaking loudly with a high pitch child voice similar to Hasbulla.
I believe Bairyn was slightly disappointed that the only thing she heard about my visit was the midget.
The dome gives you a decent view of Germania.

How high up? I Googed a few more images, amazing architecture and fantastic view.

PS Midget sightings trump all other sightings. They're out there and you saw one. You should tell her that.

Ah.  The Fatherland in Fall with loud mouthed midgets.  Very nice indeed.

I am ashamed to admit that I have never considered German Dwarfs...like ever.  I'd like to learn more but am afraid a web search of Dwarfs of the Third Reich would get me on some sort of governmental watch list.   What do you think the Nazis did with them?  Just croaked them out of hand?  Made them rivet together Messerschmitt's in tight corners of the aircraft?  Gave them to Doc Mengele and the boys to do F'ed up experiments on or put them in the Wehrmacht to go knock down lead so the Panzers could get through?

Mengele stacked them by the threes and then sewed them up.
Feed the top one and the other 2 will eventually eat.
Those are the Nazi giants you may have heard about.

I hope you're not planning a fire.

I saw zero extinguishers in the dome.
THEY ARE ASKING FOR IT!

Is that a jug of olive oil that Blondie is holding?
