Well, tbh, that's what I'm doing. I had a lot of fun tonight, very relaxed in our little band corner. Of course we had to gang up on the drummer during the intermission break and threaten to disable his bass drum kick pedal if he continued to speed up the tempo on every song. It worked, he decided his pedal was too important to him to lose, and he kept proper time for the whole second half.

The best way to slow a drummer down is to challenge them with a complicated math riddle.
7+4 should do it.
They are known idiots.

Quick note: @Fancy Lady Boots and @Journey, the jacket worked out great in rehearsal tonight, to my surprise the outfit works really well. The band sounded good, I wish I could say that for much of the rest of the show.

I am making this a reminder to be very Zen, and to keep smiling and breathing calmly no matter what happens. So far, it's working.

Excellent! I'm of the 'if you're having fun, the audience is having fun' school of thought. Of course, I'm tone deaf and wouldn't get on stage to save my life, but that's neither here nor there.
