With Ian listening to somebody talk about ghosts, I realized something that he can do that George can't. Listen. Ian let this lady talk for a considerable amount of time and then came back with thoughtful interaction. If it is George listening, George interjects with something stupid.

I caught some of last night's Coast with George Knapp hosting. The guest would have given Noory a stroke. He was a retired police detective from San Francisco who worked over 300 homicide cases, some of them famous. Knapp's a good host, he let this guy tell his stories without much interruption. The detective described how he got to Richard Ramirez the Night Stalker serial killer through another criminal, in his vivid description of the events he must have used 'EFF YOU!' and 'YOU MOTHER-EFFER!!!' like 10 times. Noory would have gone into conniptions.

GUEST: 'EFF YOU MOTHER-EFFER I'LL BLOW YER EFFIN HEAD OFF!'

NOORY: You can't say that. This is a family show.

GUEST: ...... I didn't use the actual words, I cleaned them up.

NOORY: Those words you used like 'MOTHER ....... I don't want to repeat them ... are bad words too. If you continue to use them I'll have to cut short the interview.

GUEST: um ...... how could I possibly tell the story without

NOORY: Well you could say 'DRATS TO YOU!' and things like 'YOU DIRTY RAT' like they used to in old movies

How is the guest supposed to answer an impromptu question like What-is-the-most-(fill in the blank)-you've-seen-in-your-career, when the guest is reeling from just having been interrupted twice and basically cut off dismissively after a very poignant, emotional point he made.  All because Snorway wants to be on time with the ads.  No other host on Coast worries like that.  Does that conscientiousness make him any better?  I don't think so, because none of them have gotten in trouble for it.  Sometimes they even end a minute or two late!  Heaven forbid!  Host is insulting and incapable of deep conversation.  And I'm not saying that because of Art.  I never heard Art.
