Couple of funny exchanges between George and callers in the first hour of open lines last night. The first was with a young woman who told George she and her husband had started a web-based, freeze-dried ice cream business. George clearly had no idea what freeze-dried meant. He couldn't understand how they kept the ice cream frozen while shipping it. He sounded really perplexed when she told him the freeze-dried ice cream was crispy.
A subsequent caller related his "miracle" story. While in Alaska, the pilot of a small plane on which he was a passenger offered to take him fishing with him. He declined, and deplaned when they stopped for fuel and to pick up another passenger. The caller went to his office, only to shortly hear sirens throughout the area. Turns out the pilot who offered to take the caller fishing flew the aircraft into a local tower on take-off, killing himself and his passenger.
George totally misunderstood the whole story. He offered condolences, and told us he too had lost a relative (sister's brother-in-law?) when the airliner was flown into the Tower.
