Ottis Toole spoke with a Northeast Florida accent, not a Texas one.  Get your regionalisms correct.

Did Ottis Toole spend time in Texas?
Is the point that anyone who steps foot in Texas sounds like one of them?
I will take my apology in the form of a sonata.

Ottis was too stupid to pick up another accent.  He killed a friends mother-in-law and forgot to take her money.  He confessed to killing Adam Walsh without thinking to get a tv deal.
Merry Christmas

People can be such dicks.

When the movie Finding Nemo came out, I sent $4 and a couple cereal box tops away to get a blow up balloon of the shark.  That thing was about 3 feet long and took forever to blow up.

I left it by the patio sliding glass door, and the cats gave it the side-eye every time they came in or went out.  One day I left them in the house when I went out somewhere.  I came home and that thing was just lying there, flat, deflated, completely covered with little cat claw holes.

Quayle’s daughter is on with The Baptist Mullah on Newsmax.  She can jabber, but not like her father.

HeHe. For a time, Quayle had a commercial spot on InfoWars where he was trying to hawk satellite phones. It wasn't long maybe 45 seconds but with Jones and Quayle going at it, there wasn't a whole lot of oxygen left in that studio.

Smoke alarm beeping.

My sublandlord (a real appliance repair person) with a ladder.

Me:  Here, you want a battery?  Take mine.

Him:  No, let me see what it needs first.

That's hilarious.  They just needed a time when you weren't home!

How can that be? Unless he's not an actual "expert"
I am GREAT at many, many things but master only the majority of those things
perhaps your sublandlord is great with leaky sinks and squeaky doors but not much more even though he says he is GREAT at many, many things

what say you @Sofia ?

Also
I hope you're well

I guess there's one possibility if there's a whole bunch of lint or crap on it.  I don't know if that causes the beeping though.

Because how my house is laid out, it is hardwired and networked so the battery is strictly a backup in case power goes out, so if one alarm false triggers or has a dead battery, I hear beeping all over my dumpy house.

Amazingly, those networked smoke and fire detectors are cheap. I got the contractors grade in a plain brown box for $7 each.
Eh, nevermind...

HATE smoke detectors. Can't do shit without them going off all the house. We had a house warming party on Saturday that had to pause with 8 or 9 out of the 34 people waving pillows at the little fuckers while others opened windows and doors.

Quit smoking meat indoors!

Hopefully your guests saw some humor in that...

You're close. I was searing several racks of lamb while the oven preheated. Should've had it catered like she suggested.

They all had fun and laughed about it.
