Costco is everywhere. I've picked houses because of their proximity to Costco (and In-N-Out).
The very first Price Club was in an area of San Diego called Bay Ho in a former airplane factory.
Sol Price started two other stores FedCo (a store for military, and government employees) and FedMart (later absorbed by Target).
Sol Price often moved-on from his businesses. Costco was basically the winner in a process to win Price Club. They were managed better than Pace or any of the other knock-off stores.
