Shelters don't take pets.  I took physical abuse from one person until I could get out, but it took seasons because I would not separate from my pets.  Another time prior, I did separate from a pet for two weeks in a shelter before re-establishing after abuse.  Every time I think of how I abandoned the little helpless pet, and how lucky I was that she was not hurt or lost and was still available for pick-up, I can hardly think about it because it rips me up.

One new years eve i was raped by 2 women behind a pickup truck while they filmed it. Inwas passed out it was like 3am. That is fortuitous you have a contact and was kind of you to check on her. I hope she makes a wise choice.

I've been there and experienced this type of abuse. Typical pattern: The one being abused flees and abuser begs with candy and tears and promises it will never happen again, will seek counseling etc. There is a happily reunited phase. The counseling either never happens or is quickly discontinued with derisive comments about the counselor. Pressure is reapplied by abuser to cover the whole thing up like it never happened. Things re-escalate to another violent abuse incident sometimes worse than the first. Rinse and repeat. In some stories it happens to be 10 to 15 cycles of this until the one being abused is severly injured (maybe worse) or finally moves to another state or country. Meanwhile, abuser is dumbstruck as to what happened and begins anew on someone else.

@Dyna-X , I am dumbstruck. We are a small community and just a few pages there are 3 examples of domestic abuse. I had no idea it was this prevalent. My prayers to all of you.
