Started watching Moby Dick [2011] with William Hurt as Ahab.  I'm concerned.  So far, early on, it is portraying Ahab as a vulnerable, human-type.  He has an adoring Gillian Anderson doting on him:

Not sure that I want a sensitive Ahab. I want a tough Ahab. I want an obsessed Ahab. I want a psychotic, "I'd strike the Sun if it insulted me Ahab".  I want Peck I guess:

@Walks_At_Night Have you ever seen Moby Dick with Patrick Stewart starring as Ahab? It's quite good. The ending scene is epic as he, Ahab, is pinned/speared to the Great-White-Whale.. as they sink into the abyss.
