Who cares about some corporation.

That's hilarious since the tenant is Pittsburgh Steelers Sports, Inc.

He has made a point of telling us numerous times about how little he cares about professional sports.  Except the names on the stadiums.  But otherwise, he doesn't care, and it's important that we all know that.

I think the greed of everyone involved is disgusting.  I think the fans should continue to call the stadiums and arenas by the traditional names if they want.  It would be nice if the media did that as well.

I'm just not going to spend time keeping up with whatever current name the marketing departments of various entities think we are to now use, whether it's a sporting event, concert, whatever it is.

You can take their side it you want, I won't be mad at you if you call the A's Coliseum O.co Park, or whatever the newest name is (update, according to Google it's ''RingCentral Coliseum''.  Lol, fuck that).

It's also music venues - which I do go to.  Most of the venues have both music and sports events.

But whether I'm going or not, where various events are held comes up in conversation all the time.

Why stop there?
Damn players are constantly changing, might as well just refer to them by their position.
Right fielder has 34 home runs already this year.

Could be worse @ShayP   The Red Wings play in Little Caesar's Arena - with the little dude munching a hunk of Hot-N-Ready right on the roof.

Fine with me, you'll have to ask the sports fans about that.

Hey wait a minute, is that why they have numbers on their uniforms, and by position pitchers are '1', catchers '2', 1b, 2b, 3b and ss are 3, 4, 5, and 6, with lf, cf, and rf 7,8, and 9?

In fact not knowing every member of every band people even refer to drummer, bassist, keys, vocalist, etc sometimes.  I think you're on to something.

Not following your line of reasoning here Doris.

Let's just call this one of the posts where we disagree.

The days of naming stadiums after the city (Boston Gardens, Chicago Stadium) or even cooler a loved athlete (Joe Lewis Arena) is unfortunately long gone. But to be honest nobody wants tax payers money to build stadiums for rich sports owners and there no way rich sports owners is going to build an arena and not get some revenue back with naming right. Now you just hope it's not a stupid name or some flash in the pan "What the heck is that" type of company
