Plane collision with a Blackhawk helicopter in Washington DC. There will be more to this story than they are going to publicize admit to.

Video of the incident.  I would guess either the Blackhawk driver or ATC screwed the pooch.

The helicopter pilot was well aware of the jet and still hit it. Reports of it being a training flight are surfacing.

I am real curious how deep they're going to investigate.

Such a busy area - maybe the chopper guys were looking at the wrong aircraft?

Another PSA aircraft, back in the 1980s, struck a plane with a student flying it. Maybe training people near busy commercial airports is not a good thing.

Another view of the collision

Fuck! That's one stupid ass helicopter pilot unless it was intentional. I was under the impression that the helicopter was ascending, it looked like a horizontal flight path to me.

In addition to being dark, it apparently had its tracking ID broadcast shut off. What the fuck are they doing that near a major international airport? What commanding officer let a training flight go on at that location? We need people in the military that make good decisions and this one was real bad.

Trump's social media post about this seems to be dead on right. Completely avoidable and why didn't the air traffic control tell the helicopter pilot what to do instead of asking.

Lookner is reporting a US Figure Skating development team was on the flight. It is making the shit decisions tonight even shittier.

Parents shouldn't outlive their kids.

Updates include skaters and coaches. Not necessarily just development team members.

The Correct title is: "Black Hawk Helicopter crashes into AA flight"

EarthCam video captures the moment a Black Hawk helicopter collided with a regional jet carrying 64 people on its descent into Ronald Reagan National Airport just outside Washington, D.C. on Wednesday night, causing it to crash into the Potomac River below. A rescue operation is now underway, searching the frigid waters for survivors and fatalities.
