S6E3

My most endearing character vote goes to Mike Ehrmantraut. Sherry is fun too

Humm... Sopranos might work in the future.

Humm...

Done with BB, El Camino, BCS...

Better Call Saul's ending was weak compared to my expectations.

El Camino kind of went nowhere for me. This was obviously an episode of Breaking Bad, a long one without closure.

Neither had that emotional connection that Walter (or even Mike's) death had.

Still, incredible characters, many non-Hollywood people. Remarkable.
Eh, nevermind...

I figure Jesse Brings Meth to Canada is next.

I had thought that Kim and Lalo would hook up, and the next series would be Kim Rums the Cartel.

They could have at least had a scene of Francesca having a retirement party at the MVD or cerebral palsy boy getting shot after berating a drug dealer, or Jesse. Skyler being a girlfriend in prison or a druggie.

Vince Gilligan has done some good comedy (the Brady Bunch episode on X-Files is a classic). Something, anything could have helped set the final mood sad or happy. Surely, there's another something coming up...

I liked the flashbacks.

Wendy's casting was perfect! A 30-something meth head prostitute played by a 60-year old triathlete. Fucking great casting.
Eh, nevermind...

Jailhouse Lawyer?

I thought of that when I saw him in the prison kitchen, I thought that was a natural progression to show him helping wrongly convicted people get out or something. You know, real redemption.

Maybe a juxtaposition, Kim turns into the sleaze ball and he's the one with the golden heart who's helping from the inside. Just something more than where we were left at.

After Life

I heard Ricky Gervais joke about his 'show about a suicidal man... Spoiler alert, it was renewed for a second season.' I think it was during his alcohol-drinking Oscars host job where he told them to shut up about politics.

I finally saw the third and final season.  Highly recommended, especially if you're facing mortality either directly or vicariously through your friends.

Eh, nevermind...

Bateman is right. You killed all that in very timely fashion.

Have you ever watched Ray Donovan? @sean92008 If you have another ride in mind, I strongly recommend you dive into that one. I watched it in 2020 during covid and holy moly it was great. Like BB it also ends with a full-length movie.

Funny, I hadn't watched Netflix in what seems like ages.  If family didn't insist on keeping it, I wouldn't have seen any of it.

Speaking of which, my kids are still watching from different cities and we've received no warnings that we are being cut off... As soon as that happens, we are pulling the plug on it.
Eh, nevermind...

Hadn't considered it.   It might be more contemporary than Sopranos, right?

Whenever I hear "Ray Donovan," I think of the old football player that was on Letterman a lot, Art Donovan.

Far more contemporary than the Sopranos. I watched it because I had just finished breaking bad for the first time and wasn't ready to stop binging. I took a chance, and three episodes in I was hooked. Some say that it should have ended with the fourth season. There are reasons for this thinking..

The first season of Ray Donovan is available for free on Roku. Everything else after that is subscription...

Humm. Sopranos search next.

That too, all subscription...
