Why do so many people have allergies today?
A long time ago, there was something called the peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Peanut allergies have risen in recent years.

If I had a cold, Mom would rub Vicks Vaporub on my chest and cover the area with a cotton diaper. But NEVER my feet.
Aunt Deanie would want to tie onions around our ankles if we were "sick" with a fever. My mother refused to do that. Mom was too modern for that one!

Before doing a club tour, I would start smoking about 2 weeks in advance and yes I put that stuff under my nose.  I believe that it did help and, wiping it off, was always dirty. If I didn't smoke before doing clubs, I would violently get sick and want to gag and vomit from all the cigarette smoke so, I had to get used to it by buying a couple packs...

Nothing like a cold night in Nebraska to bring every smoker in the state out to a club so as not to smoke up the house with kids in it...

I knew an old guy who would take the vicks vapo rub and put it straight up into his nostrils as far as he could get it.  What a rush!

They are so stuffy! Feels like I am breathing stale air.

I was thinking SABA... But then I realized you may want to go out of the house and do some errands... Air does not get any "fresher" than this option.

Anyhow, don't forget the upkeep costs of HEPA and activated carbon. It can add up. If you have replaceable HEPA or prefilters, I would contact a local filter shop (yes, there are places that only sell filters to places like HVAC techs and companies.) Price out the size you need. Most will not give you much help as they expect you to be a professional. But call in with the size and as if it is available by the case...

I was under the impression that it is the over sanitization of everything, especially to heavy use antibacterials and alcohol-based hand cleaners.  No natural resistance is developed.

Kids raised in pet-free, hyper-sanitized homes really are screwed by their parents, I'm sure many if them are anti-vaxxers as well.
