Curious.  Has anyone ever had any problems with wisdom teeth after 40? All is supposed to be said and done with them by 30.

My lower right WT has never fully erupted through the gum, but it now causing me great discomfort as it seems to be up to something nefarious. Impacted? Hurts to chew on that side and my jaw aches, not to mention a tinny taste in my mouth.

Thoughts, feedback, jeers?

Your wisdom tooth got too tired to stand up and decided to lie down. That's what a dentist told me, though I was in my 20's, not 40's. An x-ray would probable show the tooth lying sideways. Teeth are funny, they can actually move around. I had an addiction to sweets in my youth and rotted out some of my back chewing molars. They were extracted and, over time, three of my wisdom teeth slipped into the empty spaces and took the place of the molars. One of them turned sideways under the gum and caused quite a bit of pain. It had to be pulled, but the other three are doing just fine. I got my teeth all fixed up as an adult, but I still have to be careful and have them cleaned twice a year. If you have to have your tooth pulled, don't sweat it, KSM. Tooth extractions have come a long way since I had my teeth pulled. It is rather painless and usually one feels pretty relieved to be free of the pain, afterwards. Wish you the best, and hope this helps you out some.

You said it, Rikki. I suspect the tooth is laying down on the job and that extraction will be the way to go. I want it out of there. No dental coverage so I'll just go in with cash.  My old dentist will be happy to see me.  ::)

For what it's worth, my contrarian point of view.  I went through the same process with my lower right WT.  Every dentist wanted to take it out because it might cause a problem.  I never got around to it. The pain came and went over the years and then left altogether.  It grew in at a fully right angle, but I am definitely glad it's there now.

There is mention of Canada bringing in universal dental insurance, or so I've heard.

Just don't go to any of the dentists I've ever gone to. I have had really bad luck with people from that profession.

Oddly enough the discomfort has subsided considerably over the last two days. Last time it bothered me was in January of 2024 so maybe it's something like what you're talking about.

decisions decisions..  :-\

@TigerLily I was at a flea market and an old woman had a witch's cauldron for sale.  Want me to pick it up for you, or do you have enough?

Does it come with Conservative men or does she have to purchase those separately?

Even the Lib ladies around here claim difficulty finding guys.

Not sure why, maybe there's a clue in here:

I hate to admit it but dealing with all those eyes of newts and tongues of toads and whatnot gets old so I've been getting my ingredients pre-packaged and microwave ready. I still do old school but not as much and my cauldrons are holding up fine but thanks for thinking of me
