Noory revealed he is still not vaccinated for covid and recently someone freaked out because he was near.

That is why he is hanging out in The Lou.  If he were in Commie Cali, he would be forbidden from eating at restaurants, going to events and many other things in Los Angeles without proof of vaccination.

Of course, he can always hang on a stool at Connie's virtual bar.

Noory would probably remember seeing as a kid that 50s or 60s tv show Queen for a day.

I found info here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_for_a_Day

It was on radio and later on tv from 1956 to 1964.
The audience voted to select the winner.

The show opened with host Jack Bailey asking the audience—mostly women—"Would YOU like to be Queen for a day?" After this, the contestants were introduced and interviewed, one at a time, with commercials and fashion commentary interspersed in between.[3]

Each contestant was asked to talk about the recent financial and emotional hard times she had been through. The interview would climax with Bailey asking the contestant what she needed most and why she wanted to win the title of Queen for a Day.[4] Often the request was for medical care or therapeutic equipment to help a chronically ill child, or might be for a hearing aid, a new washing machine, or a refrigerator. Many women broke down sobbing as they described their plights.

The winning contestant was selected by the audience using an applause meter; the harsher the contestant's situation, the likelier the studio audience was to ring the applause meter's highest level. The winner, to the musical accompaniment of "Pomp and Circumstance", would be draped in a sable-trimmed red velvet robe, given a glittering jeweled crown to wear, placed on a velvet-upholstered throne, and handed a dozen long-stemmed roses to hold while her list of prizes was announced.

hahahaha talk about tacky and tasteless, the playing of Pomp and Circumstance and the sable trimmed velvet robe  ;D

I could see Noory and Tommy wanting to do their own version of Queen for the Day at their live events!
They would have a throne and costume with a crown and everything...

... still think the entire enterprise of Coast may be parody but nobody knows for sure - like Andy Kaufman.

That would explain the singing.  Tommee's gonna be upset when he finds out.

'Open lines reveal the magnificence of the audience, every man, every woman.'

- creepy Thomas from La Jolla

He actually said that!?  LOL!  By looking at the comments regarding last night's show I am glad I missed it.  Especially open lines.  Although it does warm my heart to know that there will be a Thanksgiving show.  The weight of worry is off my shoulders now, and I can be at peace.

new to me then. hilarious old codger caller.

and now it's time for open phones and Noory and Tommy obviously worked hours today to make tonight's open phone segment special, Noory informed the audience that there will be a 'hotline' tonight for callers to call in with 'the most dangerous thing you've ever done' lol so fucking lame and stupid, this is the kind of crap radio hosts with no talent come up with.

then he comforted the audience that they don't have to worry 'we're going to be here with a live show on Thanksgiving folks'  shameless douchebag, as if doing a show at 1AM on Thanksgiving is some kind of sacrifice. He gets worse with time, 'folks I know how important I am to you, I am a very famous and wealthy man who doesn't need to do this but I am selfless and I promise we'll be here for you with a live show on Martin Luther King Day'
If he is so wealthy, where does all his money go and when does he have time to enjoy it?  Why would anyone work so late in life, and have little to show for it plus bad credit (last time I heard), when they supposedly have more than enough?   Some rich people are blackmailed.  Could explain why sometimes his heart just doesn't seem in it, like the time he insulted an advertiser, or the times he sounds so indifferent.  I don't really think he makes what the Internet claims he makes, because it doubled.  No one's wages double suddenly.  That doesn't even make sense, unless the person who sets his wages is the one who benefits from the money.  Just my opinion.  I have nothing to go on, just intuition.  Who sets his wages, anyhow?

Why do I feel like that show sounds like a horrible mockery?  Is something wrong with me?

Now Noory continues his Friday night tradition  - playing a portion of an old interview so he can skip out a half hour early and reduce the open lines calls.  8)
Gads.  Sounds so obvious.

There's always [email protected]
Thanks, but I think staff reads those, if anyone.  My emails are not always very nice (probably why the send button breaks so often) so if it can get directly to him, that's better.  They fixed it tonight, but it breaks all the time.

I like to make the subject line something that appeals to his ego so he'll open it, then move on to the actual message.  Catching him off guard can lead to some great responses.
Ha ha, that's good.  When I used to try to use the george@ addess, before I paid for Insiders, I would send the same note 20 times in a row so it makes a visual pattern in the in box, lol.

Queen for a Day was a popular show.  It came on after the soap operas, so the tv audience was primed for tragedy.  I’d be very surprised if sNorway didn’t see it.

Louise seems to have forgotten she was Scarlett O’Hara from Jonesboro, North Carolina.

Lyda F. Lewis was the first Black Miss Kentucky in 1973.  She was born in 1948, so about six-years younger than Ali.
