This guy who is hosting tonight sounds a little like Adam carolla. Have any of the hosts got dropped? I mean they've got a ton of people now. Maybe the blood in the water is attracting more interest in hosting. This guy though, does sound a bit bored. Good thing I'm not listening to Long, I'm driving now and don't want to fall asleep.

Carolla.  Just listened to his show the other day for the first time in years.  What the hell happened?  Seems like he got divorced, lost his sweet house, Bald Bryan is gone, Gina Grad is gone.  Just seemed like kind of a gnarl dude now.......

This Matt Ryan guy has a Carolla vibe about him.  He was on 90 Day Fiance and picked up a Ukrainian Mrs. and sells used vehicles.

Didn't listen, but according to the C2C site, last night's host was Ryan Wrecker.  He's been with C2C as a rent-a-host for a couple months. Wrecker is an experienced talk host, for a few years he even hosted a syndicated overnight show out of St. Louis that ran opposite C2C. Mostly light conversation and current events discussion, seemed like a pretty amiable guy.  Nothing too hardcore or contentious, a perfectly mindless way to spend the night listening to the radio.  I wound up there on a number of occasions when the C2C guests were not worth listening to.

I think IHeart might be looking to divest themselves of the paranormal shtick when Noory departs.  They sorta did the same thing when Mike Seigel took over for Bell in 2000, but  the paranormal was the hot ticket at the time.  With the ghost hunting, crypid chasing, and UFO investigating shows all over the TV, the interest in those topics was at an all-time high. Seigel was let go when Bell ended his retirement, and the show reverted back to what it was.

Don't have numbers to back it up, but I'd guess interest in paranormal topics is significantly less than what it was in Bell's heyday. There also weren't the number of paranormal radio/podcast options there are today for the real hardcore types, so C2C isn't the only game in town.  Seems to me going to mainstream topics with a pleasant conversationalist like Wrecker would bring in both new listeners and advertisers.

Ryan was just... Bored sounding.  I didn't hear much, but I heard a caller thank him or compliment him and he just answered in a monotone "Sure." He did not seem connected and acted like he could be doing something better somewhere else.

How does a locally well known guy make statements like that on a national radio show without Adult Protective Services intervening?  The guy is a menace to himself, and to anyone who gets down wind of him.

7 minutes over.  Did he get counseling for suspected OCD?  Seven minutes, wow.  Doesn't bother me.  Other hosts do it.  But I've never heard George go over, ever, not in over a decade.  It used to bother me how uptight he seemed about ending on time or early.

His inability to do so many things is just becoming more obvious.

He almost went to the Gulf War? Okay bullshit meter, tell me how far this one goes.. Ding! Ding! Ding! It reads completely bullshit to the nth degree...
He has said some of the people in his group died there.  Sounds like he feels some survivor guilt, understandably.  I would think out of honor for the dead he should just not talk about himself or his role in that.  His role in not being deployed pales exponentially compared to those who gave all.  His non-presence just isn't even relevant in any publicly meaningful way.

Was he a Tim Walz or excused because of low IQ?

How old was he when that happened? 50?

Assuming his published DoB is correct, he'd have just turned 40.  What I remember him saying was he'd put in his papers and already received a separation date.  (Since he has said many times he served only 9 years, that means he resigned his commission, he didn't retire.)  The DoD does have a process (Stop Loss) they can use to keep members slated for separation in times of need, but apparently PAOs weren't in short supply.

That sounds like something stupid he'd say with little thought to embellish his own image, one of his specialties (''I was that close to real danger!'').  So first, who all does he include in ''his group''?

Wasn't his job having to do with press releases or something like that?  Would he have been in harm's way?

The only harm he would get in the way of would be somebody's fist punching his sorry face for being a fucking idiot.

Tuning into c2c for the first time in years. The way Noory sounds now is just sad…
