B.C. dude in Houston. He He He.  The humidity is bad here but it has to be an unholy nightmare in Houston.

No more beautiful Kentucky Blue lawn either.  Say hello to cooked fescue.

Forget trying to go barefoot in the lawn down here. St Augustine is the turf of choice in most neighborhoods. That shit hurts to walk on unless it’s been watered a bunch. And even then you are risking an attack by fire ants. Nasty things that cause pain for days if you don’t spray the bites with alcohol within minutes of getting bit. At first even if you feel them crawling on you, your first impression is that it’s sweat dripping down. Then one little sentry booger detects a twitch or sees your eyes shift in their direction and then they blow their little bugle for attack and attack they do. All at the same time. Seldom do people get a single ant bite.

Dear Kizzum @KSM

I love nasty guitar but I don't play. Kind of like I love football but I stopped playing when I was 13 when the boys got too big. Since I'm now self-employed and plenty of extra time, I'm trying to learn the mechanics of guitar. Kind of my own guitar appreciation course. I just got learned on Drop D by Rick Beato. Anything you could suggest? Or I could take up Spanish instead

P.S. Notice the pics of Houston, Tx are always at night. As long as the electricity is working

Lily,

Bart is a fantastic guitarist, you could have asked him. But that's fine - were here now and I shall reply to you as best I can at this moment. I am sleepy, you see. @TigerLily

If you are serious and I think you are - I applaud you (  ::) ) Starting with a drop D is not the way to begin your journey. Start with standard tuning and simple chords like A, E, D - G, F, C and you'll branch out from there. In your search engine type in A, E, D, chord progression.

You are "petite" (your word) so I am willing to bet that you'll never hit the stretch of the Lightning Strikes riff. It is a beauty for sure. This guy has to sit down to compensate for his short chubby fingers. King George would play it in a standing crouch. You will see the stretch in the main riff.

PS. When I was self employed I didn't have ANY free time until eight years after I started. You must be very good at what you do.

Thank you @KSM  I am serious. But I know I will never be a serious guitarist. I will never have the chops. But I just want to understand the technical side better to add to my appreciation. I will take your advice and start from the beginning.

Hoping you get a good night's sleep. I know you've been hauling your ass through a couple of countries

@KSM - as you know, I’m completely inept at guitar.  I was surprised at the A-E-D progression.  Is that right?  What genre?  In jazz it would be a ii-V7-I or E-A-D.  Learn me something.
Merry Christmas - Nice things, and posts, are nicer than nasty things.

The first song my parents friend/guitar teacher ever learned me was Me And Bobby Magee  ::)

(A)
Busted flat in Baton Rouge. Headed for the train. Feeling nearly faded as my (E)jeans.
Staying in (E)
Bobby thumbed a diesel down - just before it rained. Took us all the way to New Orleans(A) << Hit the (A) on leans.

The D would come in later with the chorus:
(D) Freedoms just another word for, (A)nothing left to lose.. ETC

Then they made me learn Song Sung Blue in D, A, G  And The Gambler in C, F, G  ::) ::) ::) ::) :'(

Shit loads of famous 3 chord songs. Louie Louie, Wild Thing and other unlistenables. @JUAN

Merry 2nd Christmas Eve.

@JUAN and I are expecting our gifts to be delivered post haste. @ShayP said his was delivered yesterday.
There was a little girl,
            Who had a little curl,
Right in the middle of her forehead.
            When she was good,
            She was very good indeed,
But when she was bad she was horrid.
